For delivering various Citizen centric services and furthering the reach of Financial Services including Insurance, the Government of India has set up a Task Force to examine and recommend efficient utilisation and upgradation of the Post Office Network, enabled with Digital/Internet Connectivity to rural Offices and outpost areas enabling reach of different services in rural areas. This Network is also being viewed as a distribution channel to retail various schemes and services of Central Government, State Government and Private Sector Players.

Through this discussion the Department of Posts (Ministry of Communications & Information Technology) seeks suggestions on the following:

•    To provide efficient postal network and points of presence [particularly in rural areas and small towns] to Central Government Ministries / Departments, State Governments [including Local Self Government] and private sector players for delivering various citizen-centric services, scheme, products to the people.
•    To further the role of Post Offices in Financial inclusion, including Insurance products
•    The infrastructure requirements of the Post Offices and the Postal Network
•    To make the Post Offices financially viable

Last date for sending your suggestions is 30th November, 2014.

I have a request if practically possible to keep the post offices open on Sundays for half a day by all the able bodied retired employees who can earn a little extra and fecilitate all the employed people of our country to save time on week days from their busy schedule.and attend to their personnel work. Sale of Postal stationery, registered post and speed post activities can be attended to.

1. Sense of discipline & work culture among post office employees 2. Postman should deliver letters like courues do. 3. Internet connection in all post office. 4. Post offices should work like Banks 4. Give VRS to old and inefficient staff and bring in new staff. 5. Tracking system of normal post also like registered and speed post 6. Delay in delivery should be probed on complain and provision of penalty on the person responsible for delay in delivery.

"The utilisation of the rural postal network by the State government should be further explored and expanded,This will include rationalization of the network with focus on mail/parcel services, particularly in rural areas, upgradation of infrastructure/ technology, incorporating global best practices, introducing new services and participation of multiple players.o further the role of Post Office in Financial Inclusion, including Insurance products;

For leveraging postal department is just to provide proper working environment like improve infrastructure, to give incentives on performance basis, up gradation of computers is needed etc. Recruit young/energetic personnel for the post of postmen /any other outdoor activity.most inportant is review and follow up of every task is required to enhance the performance.

MAKE COMPULSORY ALL GOVT DOCS/BANKS MUST USE SPEED POST. BOOST SALES- OLD COLLECTION OF STAMPS TO SELL TO FOREIGNERS AT AIRPORT / RAILWAY STATIONS OR NEAR HISTORICAL MONUMENTS. IT WILL BE BENEFICIAL TO PEOPLE AS P.O. ARE WIDELY SPREAD ALL OVER INDIA.RENOVATE G.P.O. DELHI AS VISITING PLACE/MUSEUM FOR ALL SCHOOL CHILDREN AND FOREIGNERS.
