Firstly, our post offices have to look smart and professional. Currently all post offices that I have seen are dingy, dirty and littered.
Post offices should also sell books and stationery, which will earn extra income.
Computerization has to be brought in and smarter and more efficient staff employed.

Post Offices can be used as mini data centers for providing various citizen services.
1. Enhance the technology and the workforce within each post-office to collect personal data and provide Citizen ID to every citizen coming within the area of that post-office
2. Various P2P (People To People) services can also be thought of like services provided by Olx.in for example
3. Improve the timelines for providing courier service which is already present in the post-office (some fine tuning!!)

"Its been long time I have seen a postman, they are extinct now."
Take inspiration from Royal Mail of UK and just aspire to become like them.
-Open branches at a radius of ever 2 km, this necessarily need
not be a big centers.
-Use it for Bill payments, passport and Visa applications
-Provide service for bigger items and insurance for valuable deliveries
-Increase the salary (on the basis of performance) and working hours of personnel, train them to treat customers well.

Also it is needed to upgrade their old systems and mechanism from their offices. Maximum systems are outdated and always get hang during the transaction which creates bad impression on customers cause of which it is losing Goodwill from market.
By adopting new techniques (Different kinds of softwares - to track docket, accounting purpose, etc.), and it can also introduce many tax saving deposit schemes for the salaries persons.

Post Office has been like a friendly neighborhood, but we ignored it. We rather supported Bank. We had emerged from the reign of BANIA and now we have fallen in the trap of BANK. In terms of numerology they both total 10. If we have to connect with people even lying remotest in our country we have to resurrect POST OFFICE. They will bring back the human touch even while working on modernized systems. They have been the best thrift institutions who promised to double your investment in five years
