For delivering various Citizen centric services and furthering the reach of Financial Services including Insurance, the Government of India has set up a Task Force to examine and recommend efficient utilisation and upgradation of the Post Office Network, enabled with Digital/Internet Connectivity to rural Offices and outpost areas enabling reach of different services in rural areas. •    To further the role of Post Offices in Financial inclusion, including Insurance products
•    The infrastructure requirements of the Post Offices and the Postal Network
•    To make the Post Offices financially viable

All post office should have one window for railway ticket booking, This will solve two purposes 1. Number of railway booking center will increase and reduce rush on railway station. Also reduce private book center and brokers. 2. Effective utilization of existing assets

Post Offices can lease space to PSU banks for branches/ATMs and to police stations. They can earn revenues from real estate while offering space at lower rate to the above. They can also share internet infrastructure and bandwidth. Presence of police station in the same premises will secure the post office and bank, so security costs can be minimised. Footfalls to post office will be higher thus enabling India Post to attract more people to their other products e.g. insurance, deposits

The action which govt. is taking is shameful at ground level.the e-governance plan is a good plan but it is not taking place at ground level. It is not important to start any plan but implementation is more important. Our district web portals are not uploading any work information or other information. If they are uploading something they are in unreadable format so we cannot gather any information from it.So please implement the plan at ground level.Otherwise all plans will be rootless.

Most Post Offices have good network connectivity. The real estate above post offices can be converted into e-learning centres. Students can take Massive Open Online Courses from various universities thru low cost computers during daytime. Farmers can have interactive sessions on improving yield during evening. PM can directly address every village via web at these centres. Telemedicine centres can also be operated. This way, Post Office's web infra and physical real estate can be used better.

In Angola, rural areas are connected by cargobuses. These are used for transporting parcels and goods as well as people from remote villages. They are four wheel drive buses that are built by Indian companies! Perhaps India post can tie up with state transport corporations to operate cargobuses. Using van for post and buses for passenger may not be individually viable in remote areas but combining the two may make it cost effective for India Post and transport co, and safe for public.

I will post daily 1 idea at least so may be after 10 years i could be able to contribute something to my motherland. Idea for Today This is best forum but with said that i believe that this should not be limit to only internet users. I strongly believe people who don't use internet must have innovative and creative ideas so my suggestion is- 1) there should be a toll free no where people could record their ideas 2) a postal address where people can FREE ideas

India has a lot of location specific handicrafts. India Post can create an ebay like ecommerce portal where customers can buy these. India Post will also provide the logistics backbone 1) Will help artists and craftspeople from remotest corners of India popularise their wares. Private ecommerce sites may not even have reached these corners 2) Will expose Indians to the vast range of Indian handicrafts rather than cheap Chinese knockoffs 3) Additional income stream for post offices

Dear Sir, a few years ago, Fedex bought a chain of photocopying and printing stores called Kinkos. Today, Fedex has enabled customers to upload a document online, which they will print and deliver to whoever we address it to, from the nearest location. Post offices can do the same services. They can also provide regular copying and printing services on PPP basis 1) Higher use of costly real estate 2) More efficient to print at the PO nearest receiver and send 3) Additional revenue for PO
