Post offices though have excellent reach across entire India but since they could not compete with couriers . There should be a mechanism in which the Postman can be linked with PRADHANMANTRI'S JAN DHAN YOJANA and should be encouraged to convince all rural population to get the SB A/c opened for all. The sending physical letter is always costly. The Post office can consider scanned emails if acceptable to senders to main regional of post office at destination & then send printout to rural area.

All the post offices should be provided with computer & internet facilities.also, more young people should be employed in post offices & they should replace the old ones.the attitude of old, near to retirement personnels in post offices are making it a pre-Indelendence Colonial Govt. Office.Innovations are to brought to make post offices younger, modern & attractive.
Also, the Jan-Dhan Yojana should be extended towards the post offices too.

1. Location and awareness of the location is the key. It is important that Post Offices should be located in highly accessible areas. If it is in small town or in rural areas then location should be on the way to market or in the market where people go daily for purchasing. If required, combine bank and post office in one building for convenience. One should be able to locate POs using main PO website.
2. Distribute pamphlets to homes, near by stores, schools, and libraries for awareness.

Rather than widening its activities, its 150 years old working pattern have been worsened during Sachin Pailet ministry . Speed post in last 3-4 years. ---------------Just imagine situation of india going backwards in speed post distribution by increasing delivery time to nearest towns/cities to be 5-6 days which was just next day prior to HUB system by Sachin Piolet.
So our govt should REVIEW HUB system and revert back to old system of sorting posts at the RMS till 2010.

All post saving accounts holders should be given ATM card seperately by post account.
saving account section should be 2 in busy and heavy traffic posts to break queues long.
post should begin 1 seperate section for central governments sections information.
As like example for students of medical stream wants to get information regarding best medical college, bad facilities, patient rush, etc.

Government can provide a training program for the employees working at the PO, so that they become more effective in their work and try to motivate them by setting some targets, on the completion of which they'll get incentives and other things. The training program must include key points on professionalism and modern day techniques of better delivery of items. I believe if the quality of the work and better mechanism can make our POs more demanding.

Government has the capability to design a system and implement using software industries and think tanks to have world's best postal service. Just make this organization revive, dedicated professional institutions with a timeline to deliver.
