ATM machines should be placed which can provide banking service of number of banks. Banks can give rent to Post Office.
Post office can also provide internet services including e mail services in villages.

To sustain, India Post needs INCOME.
Partnership in Ecommerce sector can be a big deal. India Post has a wide countrywide network. With mobile apps people shop in remote areas too. Dept of Post/Govt can take steps to Partner with online shopping websites so that instead of using courier services, they could use the Postal services to deliver their products.
I suggest following points:
• Young, skilled Human resource
• Performance tracking
• Ecommerce Exposure by PPP
• Effective Digitalization

DHL UPS are couriers as we know it but all are nothing but Postal Departments of their respective countries We can strengthen Speed Post which is efficient and most Indians have used Speed Post also has International offices but these offices are redundant the need is to open franchises of Speed Post outside and give the space in India on POP basis transfer and upgrade the staff of existing PO to do whatever they cam do and add technosavvy staff. It can be a profitable model if operated on POP ba

The Postal Department is having one scheme, name is Rural Postal Life Insurance. As a social welfare point of view this scheme is very much useful to rural people, not only useful but also very much essential. But due to lack of awareness the scheme could not reached to rural people. The Rural PLI can solve all the insurance problem of poor people as the Government is very anxious about poor people welfare.

Why can we not earn from our PSUs, why are they always subsidised by the govt. For example the Indian Post Dept. could have exposed the new opportunity in the E-Commerce sector. There are huge revenue possibilities there. I know you have to be really good be the part of the story, but its dfntly possible.

I am working in Department of Post as Marketing Executive from last 12 years. I have done more than 1000 crores business within 10 years. I have some great ideas in my mind, if these ideas are implemented in Department then I believe our Department will be the profit making Department. Some time and as an when I got the chance I shared my views to higher authority. But still I am looking right platform to state my views.

I would suggest that the post office needs to look in to what the other countries are doing by comparing the services of India Post http://www.indiapost.gov.in/ with other services Netherlands - http://www.postnl.nl/ Austria - http://www.post.at/ Malta - http://www.maltapost.com/ England - http://www.royalmail.com/ . India Post has an advantage of Economy of scale and with the growing Ecommerce industry in India the postal industry also has a huge potential to grow and become viable
