use solar powered back up for running the post office even at places where there is lack of power. Use money deposit enabled ATM at post offices. This will give a big boost for financial inclusion.

continuing from my previous post ....
As the covers will be bright in colour, sorting of these covers will be very efficient and can be sent to IT dept within no time. India post should use such oppurtunities to improve its efficiency and at the same time help itself in growing.

India post should offer IT department specific service. Create IT dept specific postalcovers with stamps-As required by the IT department, every year, every one has to send the physical ITRV form to one addrs in Bangalore, from all over india. They can create a bright coloured (orange/green postalcover) for everyone to use for sending ITRV forms. As everyone has to send ITRV to this address, It can even be printed before hand. The sender will just buy this cover and send his ITRV with his details

India Post has great scope and could become a profitable enterprise in no time if its functioning is given over to a Private Sector CEO and his team to run. It could be a base for courier services , moile phone services, micro finance and much more. Its efficiency, cleanliness, reach and courteousness all need improving. A major overhaul is needed and we from the Private Sector could suggest the right persons for the job. The Govt hierarchy could learn anew and be transformed
