Post office can be transformed by setting a single window access for citizens across the country to reach direct central government and government schemes. It can be a franchise business model by allowing citizens to invest for post office facilities with adhar card distribution/information centre, biometric services and let them earn with other retail business such as stationary and refreshment. Teach 5s philosophies and train 5s activities to all the personals to maintain workplace clean.

The Post Office must not be restricted to offering only postal services and work from 10 to 6. It must operate from 7am thru 9pm. This would employ huge manpower to meet the requirement of second shift. The additional services that may be added are ATM, Railway, Bus and Airline ticket bookings, photo copy and STD services, mobile recharge counter, Telephone, Electricity and Insurance payment counters. Such services to be outsourced to respective companies and enhance employment opportunities.

To compete in this world, our Post offices have to improve their services & style of working as per the current & future scenario. For becoming the leader in Postage services, they first have to satisfy their customers. For this, they have to provide best services to their customers. Currently, everybody knows about post office is their poor response & delayed services. This has to be changed to change the mind of people about them & to become a market leader.

In Addition , there can also be Foreign exchange service available in more city branches.
All services need not exist in all branches.

Post offices should have tie-up with some Nationalized banks to provide selective Banking services and with major courier companies to provide courier touch points.
The network can be used as front office contact for the central government schemes/benefits, state pensions and tax credit payments, to provide easy access to local and national government services on behalf of councils and government departments.
As application centres (select post offices) for Aadhaar enrollment
