For delivering various Citizen centric services and furthering the reach of Financial Services including Insurance, the Government of India has set up a Task Force to examine and recommend efficient utilisation and upgradation of the Post Office Network, enabled with Digital/Internet Connectivity to rural Offices and outpost areas enabling reach of different services in rural areas. This Network is also being viewed as a distribution channel to retail various schemes and services of Central Government, State Government and Private Sector Players.

Through this discussion the Department of Posts (Ministry of Communications & Information Technology) seeks suggestions on the following:

•    To provide efficient postal network and points of presence [particularly in rural areas and small towns] to Central Government Ministries / Departments, State Governments [including Local Self Government] and private sector players for delivering various citizen-centric services, scheme, products to the people.
•    To further the role of Post Offices in Financial inclusion, including Insurance products
•    The infrastructure requirements of the Post Offices and the Postal Network
•    To make the Post Offices financially viable

Last date for sending your suggestions is 30th November, 2014.

डाकघरो की पहुँच भारत के कोने कोने में हैं. भारत सरकार व राज्य सरकारों की योजनाओं का फायदा डाकघरों के माध्यम से घर घर में पहुँच सकता हैं. घर घर में बीमा योजना, कोरियर, जनधन योजना, बचत योजना, डाकघरों के माध्यम से पहुँच सकती हैं. डाकघरों को पूरी तरह से बैंकिंग, और बीमा की सुविधाए मिलनी चाहिए. डाकघरों से आम आदमी को ऋण, स्वास्थ्य बीमा, साधारण बीमा, कृषि व व्यापार बीमा मिलना चाहिए. डाकघर के संचार माध्यम व कम्युनिटी सेंटर के रूप में भी काम कर सकते हैं. जिससे सरकार की योजनाये जनता को पता चल सके.

Post office modernisation can play a vital role in india as future belongs to E-COMMERCE and transportation of goods and parcels can be done at cheaper costs with post office in india with existing physical set up of post office across india by modernising it. As post office india has existing massive network. By preparing post office india to deal with future scope of E-Commerce, post office india can become profitable organisation.

Internet should be available at Post Offices by any possible means; Broadband, OFC, Wi-Fi or 3G. Posts can be extensively used as E-Seva Centre to provide Citizen Services & Certifications (Birth/Caste/Income Certificate, Ration Card, Driving License, Land Records, Passport etc.). The official fees/charges for any Citizen Service can be paid at the Post Office or deducted from the Bank account of the Applicant. Posts can also serve like Cyber Cafe to provide Email, Video Calling etc. & earn.

Although the network is very much penetrated across India, the very foremost problem with Indian Post service is total lack of reliability. Normal letters have very less possibility of reaching the destination and on time. Also we have failed to upgrade our post offices with latest means of communication (Email, Voice/Video Calling, Money Transfer). Where 1000s of Courier Services & 10000s of Cyber Cafes have boomed across India; we are worrying about financial viability of our Post Service.

continued from 1st post...__ the postman can intimate the addressee about the mail. the person can either log in from his own device if he possess or come to the post office concerned and open it. similarly to send also person with a hand written letter can came to the post office, scan it or get it typed and sent to another person having e-address. a small fee (not higher than speed post services in any a case) can be charged for it. expressed things in short manner, I can give details if any

The present state of Post offices growing lesser importance is because of E-mail services. so why can't the India Post change the threat to opportunity. India post should start e-mail facility, similiar to eMO service, ie; a mail box with a variety. every person associated to a post office maybe given an unique address. he can give his e-address to his kith&kin.they even if at far places can sent a mail to that e-address, which could be opened by the postman but cannot read...to be continued--

Proper place and system for postal items to be delivered. Connectivity with head office availability of ticket and other goods should be in reserved specially at rural area rural people suffer most as we know post has greatest network and offices they must be inter connected to each other for avoiding mis placement of postal item

Post office is the most reachable service in India to very person including villages. People in villages face problems in Post office service.Their are lot of villages near by one post office and PO's doesn't have good systems,have network & server problems due to which people wait for long time. Identify the areas where many villages have single post office near by them and try to open more post office in those areas. Provide sanitation and drinking water facilities keeping cleaniness in mind.
