Post offices can reorient themselves for E-COMMERCE LOGISTICS service provider across India. E-comm has single digit share in overall commerce; bound to grow with YOUNG INDIA leaps & bounds.

every consumer company (Indian or MNC) is eyeing the rural population as consumer. Post office with maximum reach across India (where people flock for different services) can be a great platform for ADVERTISING revenue through digital screens/banners of consumer companies. If different TV channels earn large chunk of revenue from Ad spends, Post office network can earn bigger revenue from Ads.

Sir.
Post Office is the only institution having maximum reach through out India but its resources are not being utilised effectively. One way to utilize this network is to convert this organisation into a full fledged courier service with added responsibility of rural banking service.
Thanks

First thing i would like to say that Post Offices required proper and good look and better infrastructure to attract customer.Today Sub Offices are opened in ruined buildings which can collapsed any time.Basic amenities like drinking water, toilets are not provided in these offices even in some HOs and in rural areas when there is a power cut staff doesn't start the generators. How can public bring their business in these type of offices.

As a first step,PO should be given a project to work along with local authorities to survey existing Name/ Number of every door (household) in their area and to provide one to every unknown/ non-recorded address(they will need a set procedure for this) in such a way that non are left behind and when ever there is a property built It has an address listed in the post office database. All the addresses to be available online (paid subscription to institutions so no need for a address proof).

Speed Post is the most dependable express delivery service.Inspite of this it is not popular as it should have been. The reason being long que at post offices collecting counters and people having to travel long distances to hand over speed post articles. The postal department thus looses considerable business. The feasibility of outsourcing collection centres like done by private couriers may please be explored.Opening a collection centre at all Nationalised Bank branches could also be explored.

The Post Office should be given a Banking licence and they should operate like present day nationalised / private banks with core banking. The post offices should have theit own ATM and also share ATM's of other banks so that a post office bank account holder can withdraw cash anywhere in India as well as abroad.
