The draft Assistive Technology Rules, 2025 provide a strong regulatory foundation, but need sharper operational details: ~specify certification timelines, ~publish the indicative device lists, ~and set clear subsidy/replacement limits. # Mandate representation of persons with disabilities and user organisations on standards and certification bodies, require accreditation and post‑fit follow‑up for service providers, and build multilingual, IVR/ISL‑enabled offline channels alongside the Assistive Technology Portal. Strengthen data‑privacy and incident‑reporting rules, and pilot phased implementation across tribal, urban poor, and disaster‑prone areas to validate low‑cost customisation and distribution before national scale‑up.
