India is one of the leaders in sustainable development and clean energy. With the Hon PM Narendra Modi-led government’s reform-oriented, environment-friendly policies, the country has time & again shown that sound environmental policies can pave the way to a sound economy.

At the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in 2021, PM Shri Narendra Modi announced the ‘LiFE’, a mission to bring individual behavioural change at the forefront of the global climate action narrative. LIFE or Lifestyle for Environment along with the ‘Pro Planet People’ movement, aims to strengthen the efforts to overcome climate change.

LiFE will replace the prevailing 'use-and-throw’ thinking with an environmentally conscious lifestyle. The Mission is to create a global community of ‘Pro-Planet People’ (P3), who with their shared commitment will adopt and promote environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Individual Efforts Are Key to Climate Commitment

India's traditional knowledge strongly positions it to lead the narrative of addressing climate change. Like many other mass movements, LiFE aims to inspire climate action based on the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’.

MyGov invites you to share your ideas and suggestions on how to adapt to an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

1. Reduce
2. Reuse
3. Recycle
4. Renewable
5. Recover
6. Re-design
7. Re-manufacture

Few examples for the above:
Reduce - Electricity, Fuel Usage
Reuse - Old Clothes, Electronics, Building materials, furniture
Recycle - Plastic, newspapers, cartons, boxes
Renewable - Solar, Wind, Hydro, Tidal, Geothermal & Biomass
Recover - Forests, rivers, soil, mountains, wildlife
Redesign - Green buildings
Remanufacture - E-waste for new purposes

Our civilisational values have taught us the importance of living in harmony with nature. Today, let’s come together to protect our environment & take forward Mission LiFE - Lifestyle for Environment.

Respect prime minister, I want to share my Views about the present Climatic and seasonal conditions of india, these days assam and rest of seven sister state is badly affected dur to flood. We should implement laws for our Earth as the Glaciers are melting due to Global warming. We should try to focus on making our earth green again, which will reduce Soil Erosion and will Reduce Floods too. In our Country the Air Quality Index is much bad that 40% of total population of India is suffering from respiratory diseases. We've to stop it And it can only stop through planting more and more plants and looking after of it for at least 2 years after planting. We should try to depend more on sun energy or green energy as sun is the ultimate and gigantic source of energy, if we want to make India greener and clean then we've to use sun energy in every states instead of coal energy. Earth is the one and only home and mother of all of us. It's our necessary duty to keep care of our mother.🇮🇳

As our government had banned single use plastic in the country which is a good initiative for LiFE but we have already disposed a very heavy amount of plastic in the sewage, rivers, sea in other water bodies in agricultural land and all around ourselves which will be problem for coming 100 years so now government should work on extract those polythene and make proper management system for disposal of those polythene. Government should approach garbage collector and other people along with citizens of the country for the collection of already disposed polythene in the country and properly they should be recycled or destroyed then the main aim of banning single use plastic will be achieved and then the idea of LiFE i.e. Lifestyle for Environment will succeed and our coming generation will get better Bharat and environmentally sustainable future.

Globally, the practice of reusing cotton fabrics is increasing. Many companies sell recycled cotton fabrics in their original color without re-dying.It is welcome. This procedure should be implemented. Blue clothes turn into blue cotton. Then they turn it into yarn and again into blue cloth. There is a slight difference in color. As such all colored fabrics are recycled again. Our government should encourage cotton fabric recycling industries. Necessary machines require special industrial permits. As the textile department is an industry that can provide employment to women in large numbers, new initiatives in this industry should be given more encouragement.Machines for converting cotton fabrics into cotton should be provided at subsidized rates. The central government should supportive of all leading companies undertaking recycling initiatives. All District Vocational Guidance Centers should impart training through MSME Institute.Central government should provide necessary training
