India is one of the leaders in sustainable development and clean energy. With the Hon PM Narendra Modi-led government’s reform-oriented, environment-friendly policies, the country has time & again shown that sound environmental policies can pave the way to a sound economy.

At the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in 2021, PM Shri Narendra Modi announced the ‘LiFE’, a mission to bring individual behavioural change at the forefront of the global climate action narrative. LIFE or Lifestyle for Environment along with the ‘Pro Planet People’ movement, aims to strengthen the efforts to overcome climate change.

LiFE will replace the prevailing 'use-and-throw’ thinking with an environmentally conscious lifestyle. The Mission is to create a global community of ‘Pro-Planet People’ (P3), who with their shared commitment will adopt and promote environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Individual Efforts Are Key to Climate Commitment

India's traditional knowledge strongly positions it to lead the narrative of addressing climate change. Like many other mass movements, LiFE aims to inspire climate action based on the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’.

MyGov invites you to share your ideas and suggestions on how to adapt to an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

1. Reduce
2. Reuse
3. Recycle
4. Renewable
5. Recover
6. Re-design
7. Re-manufacture

Few examples for the above:
Reduce - Electricity, Fuel Usage
Reuse - Old Clothes, Electronics, Building materials, furniture
Recycle - Plastic, newspapers, cartons, boxes
Renewable - Solar, Wind, Hydro, Tidal, Geothermal & Biomass
Recover - Forests, rivers, soil, mountains, wildlife
Redesign - Green buildings
Remanufacture - E-waste for new purposes

Our civilisational values have taught us the importance of living in harmony with nature. Today, let’s come together to protect our environment & take forward Mission LiFE - Lifestyle for Environment.

There are many landfills in many cities across the country, which are overflowing with solid wastes. They have become as tall as the Qutub Minar! This creates both visual and olfactory nuisance to the people staying nearby or the public crossing these landfills. Also it's a menace to the people cleaning them. These mountains of waste invite birds like crows, kites which at times, accidentally collide with an aircraft preparing for landing, and thus lose their lives. To deal with this problem, these huge masses can be covered by earth in layers and grasses grown on it to convert them to entertainment parks (Swabhumi, Kolkata). This will eliminate all the public and aircraft problems existing and also will attract general public and children. Some cultural programmes can also take place in these newly created parks. Thank you.

Sir , its a great honor & privilege to participate in a programme with a vision & mission for developing models for sustainable development & clean energy. I would like to putforth a suggestion for Waste management. Segregation and management of waste needs to be done at source itself. Mechanism needs to be devised to collect Waste from each household or industrial units offering an incentive so as to encourage people towards healthy Waste disposal practices. Every panchayat should have Waste management units so that accumulation and concentration of waste could be avoided . The waste could be transformed into useful resources creating the best out of waste . More scientific experiments needs to conducted . Healthy waste disposal practices also prevents the occurance of many communicable diseases as well. I hope my humble suggestion would be taken into consideration to realize sustainable development and clean energy because Clean India , Green India its my Dream India.

Environmentally sustainable future can not be imagined without reducing the use of agrochemicals and synthetic fertilizers in agriculture and horticulture sectors. Adverse effects of agrochemicals on flora and fauna present in this universe including human being have been documented by scientific agencies. Lowering down the maximum permissible limits of pesticides residues on edible commodities, creation of awareness about importance of flora and fauna on this earth, harmful effects of sysnthetic chemicals among farmers and citizens of our country through campaign mode and giving emphasis on traditional agriculture systems/natural farming may only help in sustainable environment and in repairment of already damaged ecosystem. Imagine the world without insects and other organisms, hence protect all the living organisms of this universe to protect naturally occurring food chains. Regards to all.
