India is one of the leaders in sustainable development and clean energy. With the Hon PM Narendra Modi-led government’s reform-oriented, environment-friendly policies, the country has time & again shown that sound environmental policies can pave the way to a sound economy.

At the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in 2021, PM Shri Narendra Modi announced the ‘LiFE’, a mission to bring individual behavioural change at the forefront of the global climate action narrative. LIFE or Lifestyle for Environment along with the ‘Pro Planet People’ movement, aims to strengthen the efforts to overcome climate change.

LiFE will replace the prevailing 'use-and-throw’ thinking with an environmentally conscious lifestyle. The Mission is to create a global community of ‘Pro-Planet People’ (P3), who with their shared commitment will adopt and promote environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Individual Efforts Are Key to Climate Commitment

India's traditional knowledge strongly positions it to lead the narrative of addressing climate change. Like many other mass movements, LiFE aims to inspire climate action based on the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’.

MyGov invites you to share your ideas and suggestions on how to adapt to an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

1. Reduce
2. Reuse
3. Recycle
4. Renewable
5. Recover
6. Re-design
7. Re-manufacture

Few examples for the above:
Reduce - Electricity, Fuel Usage
Reuse - Old Clothes, Electronics, Building materials, furniture
Recycle - Plastic, newspapers, cartons, boxes
Renewable - Solar, Wind, Hydro, Tidal, Geothermal & Biomass
Recover - Forests, rivers, soil, mountains, wildlife
Redesign - Green buildings
Remanufacture - E-waste for new purposes

Our civilisational values have taught us the importance of living in harmony with nature. Today, let’s come together to protect our environment & take forward Mission LiFE - Lifestyle for Environment.

Environmentally Sustainable Future 6, Rain water harvesting, if you see we are getting reduced in ground water level in most of our country. Our Government has to make it mandatory to each and every home in India must have a rainwater harvesting system. Then, as you have recently said 75 district lakes and ponds are identified to restore water, similarly this has to be done with vigorously all over India and plant more trees. You start a movement of such initiatives. It is very much vital for India to make it a green revolution across our country.

Environmentally Sustainable Future 5, All houses in India can be equipped with Solar Electricity System. We Government can encourage people to go for it. This will reduce usage of obtained from coal energy and the need for coal may get drastically reduced. Even though we have nuclear technology we can opt for the natural process of saving energy through Solar System. Make it a Government Order, between these months, all the industry and shopping complex must be solar system operated and then come to houses.

Environmentally Sustainable Future 4, For the segregation of waste, we must develop a compact waste management box which every house can have. So that it becomes easy for segregation of waste. Therefore, it will be easy for the waster collector and also for the Government appointed recycling process. It minimize lots of time when the people are educated with colours. Once we spread information with he compact bin, on the go things will change. It will help the environment largely.

Biodegradable things at low prices will definitely bring a change in environment.. so, make more biodegradable things out of vegan residuals..and make them available for lowest prices..... this will definitely works! Now a days, most of the employees and even a normal person is dependent on ready made. A very best example: A food street vendor uses a plastic/Aluminim foiled takeway cups/ boxes, plastic spoon and a polythene bag to carry all those per one customer for 1 day, 1 vendor. In the same way many vendors × many customers × every day =most of the plastic use(limitless). Let's stop this... and take a bright step towards biodegradable things at low prices.

Respected PM sir, idea:“ AFFORDABLE BIODEGRADABLE THINGS“ " A transformative step for a natural way of life"...Yes! it does need a strong mind to begin the new chapter of change but only mind of imaginations & illustrations is not yet all enough right! In India, a very high percent of people dependent on their daily businesses. Even may of them have the mind set of going in an organic and natural path... but, they might not afford the prices of the biodegradable and ecofriendly things( plastics r available at low cost then why can't a biodegradable one ). Ban on plastics must not effect the independent vendors and customers with high prices of biodegradable boxes, bags, etc and taxes... Government must put some efforts to encourage the biodegradable industries to make eco friendly things out of many biodegradable residuals( like rice husk, coco peat, plant fibres, etc..).As of now many people got changed their minds but the only thing to change is efforts, price & production.
