India is one of the leaders in sustainable development and clean energy. With the Hon PM Narendra Modi-led government’s reform-oriented, environment-friendly policies, the country has time & again shown that sound environmental policies can pave the way to a sound economy.

At the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in 2021, PM Shri Narendra Modi announced the ‘LiFE’, a mission to bring individual behavioural change at the forefront of the global climate action narrative. LIFE or Lifestyle for Environment along with the ‘Pro Planet People’ movement, aims to strengthen the efforts to overcome climate change.

LiFE will replace the prevailing 'use-and-throw’ thinking with an environmentally conscious lifestyle. The Mission is to create a global community of ‘Pro-Planet People’ (P3), who with their shared commitment will adopt and promote environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Individual Efforts Are Key to Climate Commitment

India's traditional knowledge strongly positions it to lead the narrative of addressing climate change. Like many other mass movements, LiFE aims to inspire climate action based on the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’.

MyGov invites you to share your ideas and suggestions on how to adapt to an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

1. Reduce
2. Reuse
3. Recycle
4. Renewable
5. Recover
6. Re-design
7. Re-manufacture

Few examples for the above:
Reduce - Electricity, Fuel Usage
Reuse - Old Clothes, Electronics, Building materials, furniture
Recycle - Plastic, newspapers, cartons, boxes
Renewable - Solar, Wind, Hydro, Tidal, Geothermal & Biomass
Recover - Forests, rivers, soil, mountains, wildlife
Redesign - Green buildings
Remanufacture - E-waste for new purposes

Our civilisational values have taught us the importance of living in harmony with nature. Today, let’s come together to protect our environment & take forward Mission LiFE - Lifestyle for Environment.

The water bodies and Government lands have become soft targets for corrupt politicians for accumulating illegal wealth. Once occupied, land-filled and built upon, it becomes almost impossible to evict the residents who have ‘purchased’ plots at hefty prices, because the same politicians will stage violent protests. The above disease, eating away open spaces, greenery and eco-system, is most virulent in states with rampant unemployment and hooliganism. The problem is to enforce the law but even where the villagers protest, they are scared away and do not get any protection from the administration that is controlled by the above politicians. This disease is badly affecting the natural lifestyle of rural people. The national think tanks have to urgently address this vulnerability of the rural people and suggest remedial steps to the Central Government.

Halophilic viruses: One of the first halophilic viruses to be analyzed at the molecular level was the virus ɸH. This temperate virus is known to infect archaea, specifically Halobacterium salinarum . The head-to-tail interface is a multiprotein complex that locks the viral DNA inside the phage capsid correctly positioned for egress and that controls its ejection when the viral particle interacts with the host cell receptor. DNA viruses comprise important pathogens, smallpox virus

The impact of climate change has been considerably enough to threaten human health both directly and indirectly through increasing temperatures, rising sea levels, water and food supply impacts, extreme weather events like floods, droughts, earthquakes, etc., susceptible shelter and population migration. Direct effect of environmental circumstances may ease the diffusion of vector-borne diseases, water-borne diseases, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory allergies and malnutrition, etc. Overseas Development Institute found that India may lose anywhere around 3-10% of its GDP annually by 2100 and its poverty rate may rise by 3.5% in 2040 due to climate change. Modi ji, this is going to be very difficult task and Thanks for your leadership in building solid foundation to face Climate Change.

An intense heatwave is sweeping through northern India with temperatures hitting a record 49.2C (120.5F) in parts of the capital, Delhi. A new study by scientists from China, Europe and the U.S. has found that within just 50 years, climate conditions in India could become unlivable, with temperatures soaring as high as the Sahara Desert if the emissions of greenhouse gases, or gases which trap heat in the atmosphere, continue to rise at the current pace. Hats off to Team Modi In the most ambitious targets by a developing country to combat climate change.

Urban trees are important parts of a city's infrastructure because they serve as effective air filters, removing harmful pollutants in the air. Properly placed trees can reduce heating and cooling costs by 10-20% on average within 10-15 years after planting. When Tree Roots Invade Your Foundation 1. Cracks in your foundation's floor. 2. Mostly vertical cracks in your foundation's walls. 3. Cracked or shattered windows with no other evidence of trauma. 4. Uneven door and window frames. 5. Buckling in the floor's surface. As a rule, it is recommended that properties be built at least a distance equivalent to the tree's height away from that tree. That means trees having max height of 20 feet should be chosen in urban cities.
