India is one of the leaders in sustainable development and clean energy. With the Hon PM Narendra Modi-led government’s reform-oriented, environment-friendly policies, the country has time & again shown that sound environmental policies can pave the way to a sound economy.

At the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in 2021, PM Shri Narendra Modi announced the ‘LiFE’, a mission to bring individual behavioural change at the forefront of the global climate action narrative. LIFE or Lifestyle for Environment along with the ‘Pro Planet People’ movement, aims to strengthen the efforts to overcome climate change.

LiFE will replace the prevailing 'use-and-throw’ thinking with an environmentally conscious lifestyle. The Mission is to create a global community of ‘Pro-Planet People’ (P3), who with their shared commitment will adopt and promote environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Individual Efforts Are Key to Climate Commitment

India's traditional knowledge strongly positions it to lead the narrative of addressing climate change. Like many other mass movements, LiFE aims to inspire climate action based on the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’.

MyGov invites you to share your ideas and suggestions on how to adapt to an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

1. Reduce
2. Reuse
3. Recycle
4. Renewable
5. Recover
6. Re-design
7. Re-manufacture

Few examples for the above:
Reduce - Electricity, Fuel Usage
Reuse - Old Clothes, Electronics, Building materials, furniture
Recycle - Plastic, newspapers, cartons, boxes
Renewable - Solar, Wind, Hydro, Tidal, Geothermal & Biomass
Recover - Forests, rivers, soil, mountains, wildlife
Redesign - Green buildings
Remanufacture - E-waste for new purposes

Our civilisational values have taught us the importance of living in harmony with nature. Today, let’s come together to protect our environment & take forward Mission LiFE - Lifestyle for Environment.

Hon'ble P.M.Sir, Namaste. The condition of most of the Sr Citizens & EPFO Pensioners are very bad. They are living miserable poverty life. The scanty pension of Rs. 1000/- they are getting, it may not be adequate to both husband & wife in these hard days. They are forced to depend on their children.Kindly revise the minimum Pension to Rs. 10,000/- for EPFO Pensioners with Ayushman Bharat Health Card. Please take appropriate action to alleviate EPFO Pensioners suffering as you are the only hope.

LIFE - Most human do not like to beg ! they rely on self effort . India has never attempted to prove this ! Not seen 1 attempt in 75 years how the beneficiaries of free ration, farm subsidy & other subsidies feel ! can we get some of them to talk on man ki baat , DD news & other print media. Identify top 25 in every village /tehsil. should be easy as it is digital. They can answer a questionnaire at every delivery . Won't be surprised if they consider it as their birthright free ka maal for ayyashi for generations ! They would be shamelessly living of charity from all sources be it temple food, books scholarships but still want more . Like ahsan farmosh ambedkar & clan till perpetuity ! Name how many generations of family in govt jobs from reservation Contrast this with interviews of tax payers life who is funding this. Wont be surprised if they r far worse off working 16 hours to bring food on plate Zero freebies &aapda me avsar ,identify the real needy & better targeting!

Thank you for enabling this discussion. I would like to propose ideas to reduce usage of two most commonly sold single use plastics - Tooth Brush and Straws. I and my family have started using bamboo based products which are equally good! My belief is that my family of will avoid throwing 20 brushes and Straws every year (more than 1000 in our lifetime!) . If even 1 crore Indians follow this habit.. we can do alot for the planet.

LIFE building cannot begin without character, integrity. & timely justice, accountability. Also right food . For this 1) corruption in public sphere must be zero 2) when will India have a time bound justice program ! 3) Honesty must be rewarded . Not seen one attempt yet . even the fact that all freebies paid from Honest Hindu $$ a mandatory declaration by political parties , rulers missing. 4) India had and still has the best of food, medicines . How could India do it without much oil , sugar . time to get this method again now without delay. Emphasis on local self reliant material . It is still amazing how Indian temples construction survived. even US/UK construction lasts 200+ years . Y india construction crumbles in 25-30 years . 5) Indian rishis could feed a town , an army . Yog vashisht- Y can't India do it again. No food shortage & saving of lac crores of Honest Hindu $$ . No more 80 crore leeches - their birthright to loot tax payers ,can govt ever stop it ? 5)

Mud pots can be used to store water and drink during summer season instead of storing it in plastic pot or in can. Mud is safer and it will not cause any health problem whereas storing water in plastic bottles, can and in other plastic containers is harmful. If one has adequate space in their house they can use the coir rope cot instead of using nylon rope cot. Even to drying clothes coir rope can be used instead of nylon rope. Even in villages plastic usage has become more. Using natural resources is always best and we should avoid using plastic items as much as possible. For packing food items banana leaves, teak leaves and Areca nut leaf will be safe and it will not cause any environment pollution. Using of harmful chemicals in preparing jaggery and palm syrup should be avoided. Some use harmful chemicals products to clean the sugarcane syrup. It is really dangerous and a strict ban on usage or selling such chemicals should be there. An awareness among public must be done
