One of the key priorities of the Government is to provide a non-adversarial and a responsive tax administration with the main objective of creating an environment conducive for achieving higher investments and growth. At the same time the focus is also on ensuring ease of doing business for the taxpayers. For individual taxpayers, Government endeavours to promote voluntary compliance by making compliance easy and reducing the cost of compliance for the taxpayers. These steps are aimed to ultimately result in buoyant revenue collections, reflecting higher growth, leading to higher standard of living and better quality of life for the citizens.

The Department of Revenue invites taxpayers and general public to provide innovative ideas and suggestions on tax policy and administrative issues with the objective of ease of doing business and reducing compliance cost for industries thereby facilitating buoyancy of revenue and increase in investment leading to higher growth.

Dear Sir, I am P A Cariappa, firstly the " Govt of India", should put 100% tax on " Black Money", and make strict laws to curb it, and to remove "VAT" for at least 1 year , so that the burden will be removed, and put 100% tax on " Costly items such as " Rich Marages" because people spend more money", and also "Pubs". Respected Sir I am a surgeon and one of your admirers I want to raise two points as in this country there is punishment for a doctor if treatment doesn't go well; but shouldn't there be punishment for:- 1. Media for spreading false news; communal hatred highlighting religion of crime victims 2. parliamentarians for wasting time and breaking code of conduct . Why don't they give a PowerPoint presentation for their work done in PM Sansad Gram Yojna instead and penalised if fail

IF YOU SEE THE INCOME OF PAN SHOP, BARBER SHOP AND FOR THAT MATTER LACS OF RETAILER PAYING NO TAX AT ALL. DOCTORS CHARGING HEAVILY AND PAYING HARDLY 10% OF EARNING. BUT WHO WILL SPEAK AGAINST THEM ? ONLY SALARY CLASS ARE PUNISHED BY LEVYING TAX EVEN ON MEDICAL REIMBURSEMENT. IT IS VERY EASY TO BRING THEM UNDER TAX NET WHO ARE NOT PAYING TAXES. IDEAS WILL BE GIVEN FREE.

In our country for each every product we are commencing some amount of tax.So in order to remove that tax on basic things we can do one thing i our daily life we do at least one bank transaction. So if we apply 2% tax on every transaction I think this is better option to replace the tax on basic things. By this government can reduce the prices on basic things and people can support the government for the further years.

To prevent pollution in cities, some percent of road tax collected from gasoline based vehicle users can be used to subsidize price of electric cars. Thus people will be more inclined to buy electric cars.

It is a sad state of affairs that even today, if you try to get a rental property in a city like Mumbai, people are openly talking about getting 50% or more of it in black! When salaried employees like us try to push back, everyone says that everyone is doing it, and if you don't want to pay black, pay me the income tax! So suggestion is- income tax officers need to go after all rental agreement deals and really investigate the person getting rents for cash hoarding and assets vs income.

An idea to equitably increase tax revenue: Levy tax on agricultural income earned over the highest tax bracket as per the annual budget. Surely these people can contribute to the national exchequer and help their poor farmer colleagues, as they can afford to pay if they earn 10 lakh or more?
