One of the pillars of Digital India is to provide pan-India internet access through broadband highways. In sync to this, BharatNet is being successfully executed to provide optical fiber connection to 2,50,000 Gram Panchayats by 2019. Some experts have suggested that India can leverage its current cable infrastructure to provide last mile internet access via cable lines and ensure internet for all.

In this regard, MyGov is inviting citizens of India to give suggestions on policy and technology infrastructure that can lead to this access revolution, fulfilling the below-mentioned objectives
1) What are the possibilities from policy and technology perspective to maximize the usage of our cable network?
2) What are the potential challenges that could emerge in this process?
3) On comparing opportunities to challenges, does this emerge as a viable option?

Make it revenue model for rural , other wise Bharatnet won't sustain. Most of the urban cable networks are highly unorganized. Do not repeat failure of wireline network over wireless as 4G reaching deeper India. Fibre connectivity is appreciated only if the user experiences with improved network availability, pricing, bundled features, customer support. Remember fibre networks are not retrievable that means capex is sunk

All places are provided with Wifi hotspots.Number of hotspots to be provided is based on consumers of that particular area. For this service governament should charge as a tax of less than Rs.50\month\house.So that the money got as tax will be used for maintainance purpose. As wifi is available cheap of cost, people will use will digize that will lead to DIGITAL INDIA.

First of all usage of the internet instructio should be spread over that location where the NOFM circulated. If any panchayat are going to use the broadband service they should be have proper knowledge. So there classes should be organised for gram panchayat otherwise miss usage take place. As like MARIA CABLE NETWORK we also use same technology for better connectivity. And in the primary school in that locality broadband service should be reached to enhance the knowledge(jigyasa) of student

Long back, Mr. She sharing, then DG, NIC promised to bring Internet connectivity up to block level. We all know what happened. In my view in this technology intensive venture government may promote service prouder. Let the government remain a honest regulator.

Hybrid Co-axial Fibre (HFC) technology can be used for providing Cable TV, Internet and telephony using existing cable infra structure. The cable TV signals, internet signals are sent through optical fiber optic till regional hubs. At regional hubs, fibre optic signals are converted into RF signals for transmitting TV , and internet data through existing RF cable at last mile connectivity and homes. This technology is widely popular in USA & other countries, which can provided, TV, net and phone

Digital India now can truly leverage the foot print of not just BharatNet and couple of State Goverment owned Fiber networks such as T-Fiber[Telangana Fiber] and APSFL.in[AP,the newly formed Navyandhra].As we have seen use cases of GPON for Tripple Play in AP, rest of India can emulate the same model
