During the year 2015-16, India spent Rs.4.82 lakh crores on imports to fulfill domestic demand. To reduce the import burden, and also to work towards to a greener environment, it is proposed to avoid usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day in a week.

Our Hon’ble Prime Minister has urged all citizens to avoid usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day in a week. He has said that if 125 crore Indians pledge to do this, the dream of a ‘New India’ can be achieved.

Citizens are invited to suggest ways for encouraging and motivating the masses to avoid the usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day, every week.

broad cast futuristic advertisements on popular TV channels which are highly viewed. these ads are of future India design if we all don`t care for present. follow the strategy of commercial ads where they focus small kids who later insists their parents to buy the product. like in the same way give them an idol exam of nations and town where not only govt had done but the general public had also contributed for the nation, nature and future like Copenhagen where 96% of population is on bicycles.

1) Good Infrastructure will lead people to use it - Have dedicated cycling track/ routes on roads , this will motivate people to using cycles. 2) Have areas/ parks dedicated for cycling activity at nominal charges. 3) Sporting complex should be built where cycling activity can be used for entertainment, career by people. 4) Conduct weekend program on cycling tracks including half day/ full day package - cycling for 5K, 10K, 20K. will lead people to have fun and avoid petrol/ diesel use.

One of the major part of fragmented salary structure in PSUs & Govt. org. is conveyance or petrol. To claim this portion of salary one needs to show the petrol run 4-wheeler on paper to the institution for one works. This practice should be reversed & this portion of the salary should be awarded to the employees who does not own any 4-wheeler & who usages public transports. Ironically the amount for fossils fuel increases as per the hierarchy goes on. It will support in saving petrol immensely.

Sir I have following suggestions: 1. Existing transportation system may be upgraded. Timely availability of vehicles may be ensured at all strategic locations. Cleanliness of public vehicles may be ensured strictly. 2. Only CNG/ Electric vehicles may be hired in Govt. setups for officers. Pooling may also be encouraged. 3. Officers to use tele/ video conferencing facilities already available in office for nearby/ state meetings. 4. Green belts available in all of Delhi should be maintained

Encouraging CYCLING is the best way. It will help the given motive and also will be beneficial health wise. But, practically people HESITATE using cycles as they feel awkward driving them or may say they feel inferiority complex, specially college going boys. So in my view, atleast for a day, it should be made compulsory in all GOVERNMENT OFFICES, so that general public get encouraged seeing OFFICERS drive cycle. A RALLY could also be used to promote cycling.

The avoid use of petrol/diesel for one day in a week to start with in rural and semi urban areas and at 1-2 hours off in urban/metro areas. People will be happy to participate if the hours for such activity are chosen initially in the timings convenient to the people residing in Rural/Semi Urban and urban and Metro areas. Once the interest and benefits are noticed, it picks up like any movement that originated during the days of struggle for INDEPENDENCE. HOW ATTRACTIVE SUCH SITUATION WOULD BE

Some ideas 1. Encourage Car Pooling Adults living in the same housing society or area and travelling in the same direction, students going to the same school, friends attending same events/functions. Notices can be put up on office or society notice boards and social media groups 2. Impose fines for cars moving with less than 2 people #icarpooldoyou
