Tons of thanks for declaring this as proposed smart city.
I wish to bring your kind attention towards one major problem of Dombivali.
Major crowd of Dombivali is dependent on Auto Rickshaws. Passengers and auto Rickshaw drivers face following problems.
1. Because of Road problems or lack of traffic planning or hawkers near station Auto Rickshaw drivers cannot drop or pick up passengers in front of Railway Station. Passengers need to walk long to enter the station.

Kalyan Dombivali are railway stations located on central line. They are developing very well but still needs to be developed like all other railway stations of Mumbai.

The water people receive at home should be drinkable without needing any extra purification process. I would't call a city "smart" if even as basic need as pure water is not served to its citizen.

I am happy to know that KDMC included in smart city project. First thing most of us expect to have metered ricksha at dombivali west. all ricksha operates on sharing basis with 4 passengers which is illegal. Just for 1.7km rickshawala charge us rs. 40 or 50. we feel cheated, no one is there to address the problems. I expect RTO's to issue permits only to meter operated ricksha and monitor share rickha charges as well.

Another major problem to be taken into account while planning for smart city is transportation with autorickshaw.
My dear friends you are all well aware of behaviour of rickshaw drivers. They don't follow meter system. Being a urban metropolitan and highly populated city,RTO should order meter system for autos. I am aware of the fact of union's opposing the orders for metering the auto... But can't we see our neighbours how they follow meter system...
This is all i want to discuss on KDMC

Dear readers,
Warm regards of the day!
While discussing on KDMC as smart city of INDIA, I would like to share some information regarding city public transport. The city transport isn't available everywhere except for places like ring route, umbarde, panvel and little other. But within its premices KDMC run short off public transport as compared with TMC AND BMC services.
The reason might be traffic problems but see to it that how other civic neighbouring bodies function.

3. Zebra crossing should be followed by all walkers wants to cross road. Road crossing should be on request of the walkers, for that request button should be installed at every Zebra crossing.
4. To avoid wrong side traffic, all small opening at divider should be closed.
5. encroachment on major road and chauraha should be clear first and strictly not allow any bus or taxi to stand on road except their pickup and drop location.

The followings are the major traffic related issues in this area:
1. Parking of Autos / Taxis on the side of the road or pickup/drop of passengers on the road which results narrow down the road width.
Solution: Pick-up/drop location / stops should be developed which does not case problem to running traffic.
2. KDMC buses should follow traffic rules and drop / pickup passengers aside of the road not in middle of the road.

we are happy to hear about Kalyan-Dombivli MunicipalCorporation(KDMC)becomes smart city, But our basic requirement in Kalyan East area to be developed more than more, compare with Kalyan West.Proper connectivity is required for passengers from Railway Station to Kolshewadi. There is no proper/systematic broad road, place for market, electricity wires must be underground, drainage, water. School, hospital and connectivity of Kalyan E-W.We are walking on rainy water frm stn water since 25 yrs
