The role of institutions of higher education in societal development is becoming increasing significant. In recent years, higher education has isolated itself from the society and there is a need to re-establish and strengthen higher education’s close linkages with the society. How can Universities foster social responsibility and engage in community outreach programmes. Sharing some working examples would also be a useful input.

1) Education should give freedom to empowered mind and should not give encumbrance. Higher fees at IIMs is a big dampener for all those minds which wish to work for society. After passing out the burden of education loan does not allow following social passion 2) All domain of education like science, Engineering, Medicine, etc should have subjects on Indian society, History, Poverty, social capital, Diversity economic, cultural etc, Nationalism based on Constitutional principles, castes.

Please make it CBSE Maths syllabus=IITJEE Math syllabus=International mathematics olympiad (IMO)syllabus. It will make indian student to perform well in IMO well. Because of IITJEE indian students are not performing well in IMO. Since IPhO(International physics olympiad) and IChO(International chemistry olympiad) syllabus is same as IITJEE Physics and chemistry so they are performing well in these subjects.
