This theme seeks to understand the complexities around having a robust framework for technology enabled education. Do we have the human and infrastructural facilities that can fully exploit the opportunities of TEL. To what extent do our institutions leverage the potential of ICT for improving access and quality of general and technical education and also faculty development.

information delivered through devices such as tablets, smart-boards, etc. While these are valuable, in some ways, we are trying to re-create what is already available through books, televisions, etc. ICT can be even more powerful if we see it as a medium for creativity and simulation. I've explained the in the attached PDF with examples. [I submitted this under Promotion of Information and Communication Technology systems in schools, but it is applicable under this topic as well]

students and faculty understand the need and potential of TEL, though infrastructural facilities are meager in this field TEL keeps student and faculty in touch with recent development of there areas, current trends and needs, thus there employablity can be enhanced.Students and faculty will be exposed to vast area of knowledge, which help them introspect where they stand, it will also help in international comparison and will compell corrective timely measures.

RITIKA , SRI MUKTSAR SAHIB ICT is important. But let us also acknowledge the importance of other technological knowledge for research and education. for eg- GIS, GPS, statistical softwares and others. Our universities and colleges neither have enough number of skilled teaching stuff nor proper infrastructure. Regular workshops should be done. But the humane aspect of education must not be compromised. No private capital should be introduced in this.

Theme 8: Are the necessary infrastructure available for transacting education through technology? No. Large parts of India do not have internet connectivity, enough bandwith, or the capacity to handle thousands of users logging in at the same time. Merely ensuring connections for universities and colleges is not going to be enough, as the online nature of TEL demands that the student be able to access the materials online at any point.
