I am myself a single girl child merit scholarship holder for post graduation. But the problem is with the attitude the disbursing banks are taking. I have had to make several trips to the bank and they are yet to release the scholarship amount. They are asking for verification details that are not required and have not been listed on the UGC website. With this kind of hassle that girl students are going through, is it any wonder why they are feeling discouraged and upset?

Just schemes and scholarships wont work.I think we need to talk and change the mindset of the parents by making them understand the positives of girl child education and then, Scholarships and schemes will be successful and will work in motivational angle.

I think psychiatrists are in need for taking this forward in our society.Pschiatrists are in need to conduct free workshops at school level,organization level,in selected rural areas for changing people's mind towards women in the society.Then only women can be saved from demonic mentality & girl child education can be encouraged with ease.
