i think there are two ways to improve ranking of colleges not necessarily central colleges only but also state colleges... 1st. Ask d global ranking agencies like qs world ranking ,times higher about in which areas our colleges lag behind global colleges even now from china and send we should also ask our univ student groups and teachers to submit report on what are d factors in which you will like improvmnt . so if u will a list of problems relatd to every particular college as problms r unique

Let us think in keeping the basic object of education. Ranking of institutions is not a good idea in general. The prime object of education shall be diluted with this concept.Think it again- If all inputs & infrstructures are meticulously checked during approval or affiliation then where is the chance of variation. All are perfect. This will create positive impact in student's mindset.

Medical colleges to be ranked on basis of an all india exam like GRE/GMAT to be taken by MBBS students compulsorily and conducted by MCI . This would ensure the merit and standard of teaching of the collegeIt is also important that all MBBS exams be conducted on all India basis and the viva /practicals at a neutral centre. This would increase the competition, offer quality teaching, remove corruption and downsize the medical education mafia.

Ranking must be done of all educational institutions under different categories: 1. Central Universities 2. State Universities (Residential and affiliating) 3. IITs 4. IIMs 5. Private Universities It is also true that facilities and infrastructure in various categories are in varying degrees and hence this must be taken into account while doing this exercise.

its very sad to hear always that a candidate who is willing to do MBA cannot do it. I just want to highlight here that many don't get there seats in top ranking institutes like IIM and IIT. but are they not good candidate? or they have few financial crisis or average academic performance? if they have weak financial condition then cant they study somewhere else? if they study then why don't they get equal salary job like IIM candidate gets? skills should be judged not institutes! I feel this

The ranking of institutes can be upgraded with Internationalization. If we want to achieve this then the process for admission needs to be streamlined (online, simplified, clear etc.). When a student takes admission we have take care of his residence, insurance, Visa etc. for this work we must have supporting departments like International Mobility Centre, Social services, Housing department, Student Services etc. in the university.
