With globalization and liberalization of Indian Economy in last two decades, numerous domestic and international companies have been drawn to investing in new modes of business/ business models targeted at the huge domestic market especially in the consumer goods & services. Direct Selling is one of these modes where goods /services are sold directly by the producer/service provider to the consumers. For this different models such as Multi Level/Network marketing, Door to Door Selling, Online Selling, Tele-shopping are being used. These practices are new and different from traditional retail through shops. In the absence of a proper regulatory framework, retail through these models leads to consumer grievances, trader’s issues, slow growth of the sector etc.

The aim of this discussion is to deliberate and evolve views of all stakeholders for providing a regulatory framework to the sector.

Direct selling activities should be highly regularized due to a) false advertising B) under direct selling government schemes should be involved. c) most of times customers are stuck with products which they can't sell further due to lack of selling experience, traits, communication skills...etc.regulations should be there for proper training. d)there should be a adequate provisions for refunds also

Direct selling gives an equal opprotunity to all of us. And it simplly says everbody can do it. The thinking is so big that if you wanna be rich then find people and make them rich. Really it is the wonderfull option for income generation.

Ultimately the time has come to support direct selling in the country. It gives uncommon income source to common man. Only thing Govt should be strict on companies those who are not following regulations made by act. The spending capacity will goes up for poor people and govt will get more taxes. finally nation will grow.

Make it mandatory by law for all online shopping platforms/providers to disclose/display the date of manufacturing and expiry on the product. It is experienced that old products which are nearing to expiry are sold on line and no effective mechanism is available for return and refund. Consumers are fooled.

Regarding framework for this industry, the only risk which is appearing is disappearance of small kirana shops. This can be solved by making direct selling giants tie-up with local stores as delivery/pick up points. On the other hand, local stores should not be allowed to opt for more than one Direct Seller for a particular product category. Another major risk in this industry is Huge Discounts. Pricing of online stores is so difficult to regulate.

middle class home buyers were literally crushed by the banks with their interst hikes.EMIs have literally doubled throwing their long term plans heywire. They increase rates immediately when RBI hikes but never pass on the same when RBI reduces the rate.It is high time that govt should stepin to dispense with prepayment penalties and take over charges, when customers shift to better serving banks with lower rates.customers should not be forced to pay for inefficiency of banks.
