The e-Committee, Supreme Court of India envisages a judicial system that is more accessible, efficient, and equitable for every individual who engages with the justice delivery system. The right of access to justice, guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution encompasses the right to access live court proceedings.

To imbue greater transparency, inclusivity and foster access to justice, the e-Committee has undertaken the project of live streaming of court proceedings on priority. This will enable access to live court proceedings, including on matters of public interest to citizens, journalists, civil society, academicians, and law students on a real-time basis, which was not otherwise possible owing to geographical, logistical, or infrastructural issues.

The e-Committee, Supreme Court of India invites inputs, feedback, and suggestions on the Draft Model Rules for Live-Streaming and Recording of Court Proceedings.

The last date to receive Suggestions/Inputs is 30th June 2021.

For transparency and accountability in judicial proceedings, live streaming of court proceedings should be done, unless it is an in- camera proceeding. Live proceedings without any restrictions will prevent the propogation of distorted versions of judiciial proceedings through social media and newspapers.

MY ONLY SUGGESTION AND PREY TO ALL LORD SHIPS IS TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF CASES PENDING AT VARIOUS COURTS AS JUDICIARY IS THE ONLY TRUST AND BELIEVE OF CITIZENS

Respected Sir, It depends on the sensitivity of the case and also it depends on it's impact on national security or communal harmony. The decision live streaming be left to the Judges . Present justice system is dependent on how it is presented to the Honorable Court and decision is influenced by skill & knowledge of the lawyer and his/her argument . A Person with alleged big crime may get bail next day in one place ,but another may not get a date for listing for hearing.

This is a great step when taken with precautions and safety. It also helps the young generation to understand what are the actual procedures taken when there are court proceedings going on. But live streaming of proceedings are to be secured and every common citizen of India should be given the chance to see the proceedings. So,the permission should be granted to all the press and media to record the proceedings with specific terms and conditions applied. Thank you my gov for this opportunity.

This is a very useful idea for the growth of independence of judiciary in our nation which is prescribed in our constitution. But live streaming of proceedings are to be secured and every common citizen of India should be given the chance to see the proceedings. So,the permission should be granted to all the press and media to record the proceedings instead of limiting the proceedings to certain papers . Thank you sir and my gov
