The e-Committee, Supreme Court of India envisages a judicial system that is more accessible, efficient, and equitable for every individual who engages with the justice delivery system. The right of access to justice, guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution encompasses the right to access live court proceedings.

To imbue greater transparency, inclusivity and foster access to justice, the e-Committee has undertaken the project of live streaming of court proceedings on priority. This will enable access to live court proceedings, including on matters of public interest to citizens, journalists, civil society, academicians, and law students on a real-time basis, which was not otherwise possible owing to geographical, logistical, or infrastructural issues.

The e-Committee, Supreme Court of India invites inputs, feedback, and suggestions on the Draft Model Rules for Live-Streaming and Recording of Court Proceedings.

Click here to read the Draft Model Rules for Live-Streaming and Recording of Court Proceedings.

The last date to receive Suggestions/Inputs is 30th June 2021.

Live streaming is good option as some time both side lawyers can work for each other that public can see what is happening and can go for PIL ..if we don’t know any about particular case we can say verdict is right or in favour..

Doctors and their importance is very well noticed during this pandemic. The role of dentists are equally pivotal but unfortunately the number of government jobs offered to them are numbered. there have had been many requests to the government to increase the number of government jobs for them but no significant action has had been taken. The number of private colleges are increasing bringing in saturation monopoly quackery etc. This is less addressed issue but needs more attention

Live streaming & recording court proceedings may not be of any utility for the general public or common people going forward. It may of some help to advocates & the parties specific to the case.It may be useful for law journals. It can't help improve the court efficiency or accelerate justice delivering. In the nutshell it has a very limited value in the judicial process.
