The City “Mangaluru” in Karnataka has been selected as one of the Smart Cities to be developed under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India's Smart City Mission. In order to participate in the 'City Challenge' proposal competition, Mangaluru is now required to formulate its own unique Vision and prepare the Smart City Plan in consultation with the citizens and other stakeholders.
Mangaluru City Corporation makes a Clarian call to Mangaluru’s responsible, right thinking and smart citizenry to post their valuable suggestions and recommendations to make Mangaluru a truly Smart Global City.
Your valuable suggestions would help Mangaluru to formulate a Smart City Vision, Goals and Strategy to achieve objectives.

The citizens are also requested to share their innovative and sustainable ideas and suggestions to develop Pan City Initiatives using Smart Solutions (using Information and Communication Technology) in areas of Core Infrastructure (as defined in the Smart City Mission Statement & Guidelines) and Area Based Developments to accelerate Economic Activities in the city.

Roads with divider, Good Footpath, Drainage system, Streetlights, Ample parking, sufficient Fly overs, Bikarnkatte flyover to be extended till Kadri and at Nantoor towards KPT and Pumpwell, Additional signals, 24*7 water, electricity and WiFI facility, importance to clean city, clearing the garbage, vacating beggars and street vendors, sufficient public toilets, security, strict transport rules, Radar system for transport, separate nice city bus stop, providing sufficient transport, greenery

National highway shall connect the city through service roads and flyovers should be built at Kpt and nantoor to avoid traffic congestion

it is going to be a Herculeous task for mangaluru city to widen the roads but by using the central govt funds in a planned and efficient manner smart mangaluru will look neat and beautiful

plant trees and plants beside the roads and ensure it is well maintained. need wide roads as in Bangalore and chennai and there is a very big need to develop and widen M.G road and many main roads

need a very big boom in IT sector and industry sector.. need a separate Mangalore Industrial City and all industries shall be located there for now baikampady can be named as MIC

as Mangalore is gonna develop into a smart city ,it is very advantageous for people of Udupi ,Kodagu and Kasargod , which means they will also develop into big cities
