You should introduce a 'Consider for de-gradation' option while booking tickets. This will help passengers who really have to travel. Even if they do not get seat in their desired class, they will be able to travel in a lower class if seats are available in it. This might also increase the revenue of the Indian Railways as many vacant seats will be filled.

From shimoga to Bangalore daily about 15% to 20% people travel with out ticket an there is no proper checking if 3 or 4 prompt ticket collectors are deployed revenue can be increased especially an Saturday and Sunday.

With respect to Mumbai Local Railway, more ticket counters are needed so as to reduce queues. Second-class tickets in locals range from Rs 5 - 20 which is quite affordable. People still travel without tickets many times so as to avoid waiting in queues. This is not only unfair to people who do purchase tickets but railways too lose out on money.

At the time of tatkal ticket booking, the self attested copy of identity proof should be given along with the reservation form.Government is moving towards the paperless ticket system, then why do we still need to stick to these photo copies for tatkal ticket booking?.Meanwhile as the people often end up waiting in these queues in early morning itself,if we forget to bring the photocopies,we will be tensed to search for the xerox shops which were not open at that time.Need some alternate approches

in the railway budget announced on 26-02-2015). This may be because of a number of multiple/fake ids being created. Though irctc cracked down on many fake ids last year, it doesn't seem to work and the problem persists. The railway ministry and irctc is requested to devise suitable mechanism to deal with the problem.

There seems/appears to be an unholy nexus of touts, travel agents, middlemen and some other persons when it comes to booking tickets online through irctc website (holi, diwali etc.). People going home in this season from all parts of the country face considerable hardship in booking tickets online as the reservation status on all trains show long list of wait listed tickets within a few minutes of the opening of booking i.e. 60 days prior to the date of journey (changed to 120 days)

May i take this opportunity to revamp the the IRCTC website which is filled with lot of advertisements which are more than the information required for the passengers. Is it required to raise money through this kind of PPC ? Also can consider website like https://asi.irctc.co.in/ which IRCTC itself launched, which is very clean and without any advertisements. Also, can maintain a common User Interface standard in all the websites under IRCTC, so that the users can have easy access. Thank you.
