To Stop Brain Drain, 3 main steps : 1. Dedicated Subject in all schools/Colleges across India : Mera Desh (My Country),Topics include Indian History,Freedom fighters, Wars we won, Comparison with US/China.This will ignite energy in all students. 2. Government Should provide IIT/IIM Folks, Good Salary Packages, Bungalows, And also recognition so that they work for Their Own Country, Not only US Companies. 3. Separate Quality Management team in all schools/colleges for stopping Brain Drain.

i probably will get a lot of flack for this but here goes. please please stop this subsidies this is only encouraging laziness which in turn makes people demand for more from the job creators which increases the cost of any product developed thus making our products non competitive in the international market. when a person starves that is when they will work hard

establish centers of excellence where the best and brightest can earn a living while creating innovative products funded by the government as 99% of the business community in INDIA does not understand funding future products all they care is what can i sell today this leads to lack on innovation and keeps those mediocre people doing work without creating while the best leave.

Indian small scale industries are inventing new products every but fails to get patent rights for the same. the same is the case with the universities and educated people also. govt. shld encourage research and also educate people to get patent rights for their inventions so that India will not loose thousands of crores as royalty to other countries. according to study, in 2013, applications made for patents are china-31%, usa-22% where as India-1.6% which is very small. govt. shld take note of

promote excellence rather than hierarchy such as seen even in reputed central institutes. Rather than increase age limits for retirement, find a balance between hierarchy and incentive provision so that young talented and qualified people get good jobs . The old guard likes administrative and academic lethargy and politicking that is detrimental to intellectual growth and creates frustration among bright minds. Lack of appreciation of the youth drives them to greener pastures and is our loss.

We need to give special incentives for entrepreneurs. They not only create jobs but also help to retain talent in the country. Separate funds be allocated for entrepreneurs, training for them, evaluation of their ideas by panels of experts, H/W & S/W infrastructure, more sharing of ideas with industry leaders etc. Students opening ventures be encouraged for ventures having zero carbon foot-print,& more aimed towards social needs like opening schools or colleges.

I find that bright students mostly end up as either engineers or doctors. I think we need to give more options so that bright students have more freedom to choose career. Why not archaeologists, astronomers, geologoists, zoologists, agriculturists, & many more types? If we create other options, students won't go for engineering just because they have no other choice. We shall have better quality of professionals & also more diversity of professionals.

Brain drain is mainly due to removal of efficient people under the concept of reservation. All the brightest minds are mostly rejected minds in India. Increase the budget for sc and st Welfare make All requirements for them to excel in competitive exams. Introduce new scheme such that rich people don't get the benfit of reservation.

Since a lot of Colleges are affiliated/regulated, a database of meritorious students should be maintained and shared with the Government(state and central). Through such a database the Government can to approach and assist the students to contribute to nation building by giving option of relaxed taxation like those given to defence personnel or financial contribution for up to 5 years.

Create research opportunities for students, at least in the PG level. Institutes should be encouraged to take up practical problems and work on them. Reduce specialized areas of study at UG level, and introduce specialization (more specialized than now) at PG level. Do allow our engineers and scientists to work on technology even if there are chances of going wrong. (Example: If Admiral Gorshkov was re-done here, it might have been late but we would have developed an understanding all the same).
