In India’s service sector is to mandate *universal design principles* across all service touchpoints—physical and digital. This includes step-free access to buildings, tactile and Braille signage, audio announcements, and accessible customer service desks. Digital services must comply with *WCAG 2.1* guidelines to ensure screen reader compatibility, alt text for images, and voice navigation support. Staff should undergo *disability sensitivity training* to provide inclusive service. Standards should also account for *regional language support* and *affordable assistive technologies* to ensure inclusion across socioeconomic groups. Finally, introduce a robust grievance redressal system with strict timelines and penalties for non-compliance to ensure accountability.
