Nearly a decade and half has passed since the National Policy for Empowerment of Women, 2001 was formulated. Since then significant strides in global technology and information systems have placed the Indian economy on a trajectory of higher growth impacting the general populace and women, in particular in unique and different ways. The discourse on women’s empowerment has been gradually evolving over the last few decades, wherein paradigm shifts have occurred –from seeing women as mere recipients of welfare benefits to mainstreaming gender concerns and engaging them in the development process of the country. These changes have brought forth fresh opportunities and possibilities for women’s empowerment while at the same time presenting new and emerging challenges which along with persisting socio-economic problems continue to hinder gender equality and holistic empowerment of women.

The policy envisions a society in which, women attain their full potential and are able to participate as equal partners in all spheres of life. It also emphasises the role of an effective framework to enable the process of developing policies, programmes and practices which will ensure equal rights and opportunities for women.

The broad objective of the policy is to create a conducive socio-cultural, economic and political environment to enable women enjoy de jure and de facto fundamental rights and realize their full potential.

Gender Biased laws are the greatest threat to our NATION.It is not only spoiling our rich traditional family values which our forefathers have created but it is also overburdening our judiciary system with fake cases. Perhaps the time has come to make Gender neutral laws if we don't do it now we will have no other option then to cry or regret in future.

WCD Ministry forgets that Child is also Integral Part of their Ministry Can someone feel that pain in life of Child born with Litigating Parents? Child have rights to get equal access of both parents, but Judges use discretionary power to award more than 98% Child Custodies to Females only.Where is equality here? If anyone asks for explanation then response will be "Best Interest of Child" Parent Alienation is Crime done in Legal Way by Courts. #EqualSharedParenting is Child's Right

Copied#

Plz note that #GenderBiasedLaws are illegal as per Constitution as #CrimeHasNoGender In absence of Men's Ministry, its moral responsibility of WCD Ministry to make #GenderNeutral laws to take action on Crime rather than Gender. There r 49+ Female centric laws with lowest conviction rate n highest misuse rate, due to same #Fakecases are excess burden on Judiciary System. Immediately replace all husband/wife word from these laws with "Spouse" to make #GenderNeutral Avoid #LawsAgainstMen

As per constitution, every citizen is same and there should not be any discrimination on the basis of Sex,Caste,Religion, etc.Overall 80% of tax payers are Men,but there is no ministry fr Men(even Animals have proper Ministry).Due to same WCD Ministry is creating only #GenerBiasedLaws by neglecting Crime Rate of Females.Department works under assumption that females are always victim, but fact is completely different as #CrimeHasNoGender Why punishment for trolling done by females not covered ??

Beggary using children is a normal sight. This makes one suspect that there are gangs operating from behind who kidnap children not only to use them for beggary, but also to force girl children to prostitution and boy children to slavery. The law needs to put an end to beggary so as to stop street children from going on multiplying. The law should force the police to act against beggary and protect the children from gangsters. Protecting the children in turn protects the women, in the long run.

I would like to share about Women safety first then women empowerment. At many places women are not safe. Crimes are increasing day by day like Rape, trafficking, assault, kidnapping, fraud, domestic violence etc. criminals can escape very easily by giving bribery. Some quick punishments should be there so other person think twice before reapeating the same crime. " Jaisa GUNA vaisi Saja" Should be there. Please read the attached file and give your precious inputs for women safety.

The biggest curse in not less wealth...but having no job...and dependent on others. Since we have limited job opportunity in the country...its better instead to give one full day job to one person, give half day job to two persons, in departments where it is possible......and reserve them particularly for ladies...because they have to see their house and children also..I am sure this will help (1) Empowerment for ladies (2) Easiness for working women (3) Job opportunity for women etc.

I have seen in the career of almost all females a period comes when the personal pressure is so much that many quit the positions and all their career struggle go waste, though after few years they are again in position to continue with their job. Beside Child care leave we can come with more options like half salary half day jobs, extraordinary leave without pay which is maximum for one year now it can be more than one year for ladies, where ever in departments it is possible….like research etc
