Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has said India’s G20 agenda will be inclusive, ambitious, action-oriented, and decisive, establishing a presidency of healing, harmony, and hope.

Automation and ground-breaking technological advancements are fundamentally changing the nature of work in more than one way. Trends such as demographic transitions and technological changes such as Industry 4.0, Web 3.0, and extended reality technology bring immense possibilities that will forever change lives. This would imply significant workplace transformations and changes in the future of work that would be beyond human imagination. And to thrive in this new ‘World of Work,’ it is vital that skilling stakeholders comprehend these new trends and capacitate the existing education and skilling ecosystems.

Therefore, basis the announcements made in the ongoing discussions in the G20 Education Working Group 2023, the key takeaways about the future of the work are as follows and we seek ideas and suggestions from the public and other stakeholders on the same:

• The G20 Education Working Group has deliberated on pathways to make technology-enabled learning more inclusive, qualitative, and collaborative at every level.
• With the rise of automation across industries, it is imperative to mainstream foundational skills into the curriculum framework and facilitate dynamic learning over the life cycle to not only effectively measure the learning outcomes but also ensure people keep pace with the current factors of change. Education stakeholders must collaborate and focus on strengthening the foundational learning framework by leveraging technology and blended learning to ensure that students are equipped with the necessities for the future.
• The future of work is driven by the rising awareness of decarbonization and building a sustainable business, and the G20 countries recognise the importance of collective action in tackling environmental challenges as well as promoting transitions towards more flexible, transparent, and cleaner energy systems.

Request you to focus on improving education quality, making it more practice based than paper work. Avail research opportunities, make the industrial practice a compulsion for every single course. Also the learnings shall be pocket friendly so that people from every economical background can avail it. Remove caste or religion based reservation in education sector limiting to only economical background, in order to improve the quality of professionals. A person with family earning 1L per month with minority gets admission even with low grades, paying only 10% of course fee. However, a middle class with no benefits and monthly family earnings say 30000/- needs to pay full fees even after securing higher grades. Isn't it the injustice?

I will be talking about introduction Agtech innovations: In India, the small farmers can use Agtech with collaboration to some companies who will be training them and providing them new technologies like precision farming, using data analytics, IoT sensors in farming. This can also be done if we collaborate with some of the universities from where some brilliant and young minds who are studying agriculture or technology can time to time conduct workshops and training sessions for the small farmers, in this way when the innovation and tradition will come together for the development as a whole. It will provide some true skills to the students and help them in exploring the new trends and at the same time will innovate the traditional ways of farming leading to sustainable agriculture.

Applying the rule to select candidates based on their skill set and knowledge, and not just based on their merits, would be an excellent first step. Also, practical and field knowledge should be given to all undergraduate students so they can understand their interests and responsibilities early. Most students in their UG, lack basic practical knowledge. Based on their merit, they might get a job, but they lack a skillset which leaves a lot of room for improvement. The additional subjects in classes 9 and 11 should be more so that the student can identify their interest. Most students in India don't get to know their strength area as they don't get the chance to explore the scopes and workings of different fields.
