The Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued draft rules to ensure ease of using drones in India on the basis of trust, self-certification, and non-intrusive monitoring. The Drone Rules, 2021, once notified, will supersede the UAS Rules, 2021, which came into force on March 12 this year.

The Rules aim to make the process of owning, possessing, exporting, importing, manufacturing, trading, leasing, operating, transferring, or maintaining a drone in India, simpler and hassle-free. For that, the draft rules seek to abolish the requirement of various approvals, ranging from certificate of conformance, certificate of maintenance, import clearance, to student remote pilot licences.

Besides, it proposes the development of drone corridors for cargo deliveries and a drone promotion council to be set up to facilitate a drone-friendly regulatory regime in the country.

Click here to view The draft of Draft Drone Rules, 2021, which is issued for public consultation for seeking feedback and suggestions.

The last date of submission is August 5, 2021.

Contd---The main idea is a important tool not to fall in wrong hands.During VIP movement or at important locations a special gun with capability Of firing net to trap the drone has to be developed by DRDO as it's important for both military and civilian purposes in handling terror attacks. Any theft of drone should be immediately notified to police department & has to be dealt seriously.

Also, automatic drone killing equipments can be installed near gov building and army areas. Which can look into the remote identification of any drone flying in their area and thus identify and kill any rogue drones, by itself without any intervention by officials. And also inform the official about the incidence.

Kindly remove NPNT compliance for drones. Instead use a unique drone regiatration no. Which can also be traced by the authorities. Remote identification system is being developed by dji. And this is much better than NPNT. It will be very similar to vehicle registration. And by using remote identification by police or any law enforcing body. Any rogue drone can be identified and killed easily. With this many drone manufacturers would also be interested in india.

Please issue license card/permission to build and fly drones. We have been waiting for the next steps to be followed after drone registration and no clue what are the guidelines. Local authorities should also be educated enough that drones are for what purpose. We want to do more for our country and use drone for good purpose to help all. Please discuss with all and create a proper documented policy for everyone to have more clarity. Sameer Sachdeva spaceportindia@gmail.com
