Lately we had some health issues in my in-laws family. One of the aunt of my wife was diagnosed with blockages in heart and was advised to undergo by-pass surgery. After enquiring at several hospitals, she underwent the surgery and is doing fine. But the worst part was the insurance settlement. Different hospitals quoted different charges for the surgery which is little scary. Here the total bill was same as insurance amount, do not know how! I had a similar experience with my dad when he was diagnosed with renal failure and was undergoing dialysis. At his end times, we were told to do heart surgery for some unexpected reasons which we did but he didn't last long after that. During that time, before admission to hospital I was asked about the limit of my parental health insurance.I told them the coverage amount.That time also they billed us exactly the amount of my parental insurance.
