To have a liveable Smart City Plan for Kohima, every Stakeholder and Citizen of Kohima is now invited to contribute valuable ideas towards the building of Kohima Smart City. Our Smart City Proposal is to compete with the rest of the 100 cities of the nation to be developed under the Smart City Mission. In this second phase of Inter-State Competitions, let us jointly contribute and triumph together to live a decent life in harmony.

Your valuable suggestions can bring significant transformation to your city and improve the life of citizens.

Please share your ideas to make Kohima – a liveable Smart City.

waste management should be centralized and regulated with recycle system. that will make the environment cleaner and better. we have to learn from Himachal pradesh. when they can be the cleanest city why cant we? when they can have every household a toilet each in the village why cant we? we have a very strong village system and these can be done.

Nagaland liqour total prohibition act should be lifted and regulated. this will control a lot of illegal activities happening around. this will bring about a more liveable kohima. people will drink in bars and lounges or restaurant in a limited way instead of excessive drinking in the forests and jungle areas...

We can mark some strategic market areas as no traffic zones. Buses can be regulated to circular roads and taxis can ply in the lanes with pre-paid coupons for specific points to reduce traffic congestion, passengers safety and uncontrolled fares. Engaging the populations in various activities and entertainments with parks, sports and movie halls and local tourism facilities etc.

Priorities can be accorded to rain water harvesting system in a cluster of families, centralized solar power generation in strategic locations, Food joints and local market in every wards. New building construction permits can be subjected to parking slots at the basements or backyards. Taxis must be coloured and unformed with proper identification codes for passengers safety. multi-layer parking can be encourage and line buses or public transport be restricted to cross the city....

RENEWABLE ENERGY( Solar Energy ): Since setting up individual solar energy system is expensive, every community needs a decentralised power generation to curb constant energy crisis in Nagaland. This system does not only provide authority to the local people but it is an economical way to safeguard the public’s future as well as create comfortable living conditions through alternative energy.
