The role of new and renewable energy has been increasing significantly in recent times with the growing concern for the country's energy security. To achieve energy self-sufficiency, it is necessary to deploy new and renewable energy for supplementing the energy requirements of our country. So, we ask you to suggest ways for encouraging the use of renewable energy on this open discussion forum.

Similar to Swach bharat it is time to bring another revolution of planting trees. No area or land should be left empty.Just planting two trees in before of each house in a street can give 10 lac trees to each city.Add penalty or deduct maintenance cost from each home electricity bills for tree maintenance. If a house without tree should be considered as a shame. Similarly each railway station platforms & surrounding areas, can accommodate 100 big to medium trees. All NH highways should show green.

Time to invest lot of research in Thorium based reactors & fusion reactors. If correct technology is developed we can have reactor at at a size of suitcase. So each homes, car, flights can run infinitely. DRDO has lot of responsibility to bring this to reality, since west countries already doing research they can collaborate with them to make it happen. It reduce lot of foreign exchange,no pollution, give us green credits. Then planting trees in each streets should take as a national theme is in need.

Running cars in electric is now possible but only problem is a battery which should recharge in 5 min or at least in 15 minutes so cars can recharge then in existing petrol station. Then liquid & solid waste should be converted into fuels in each house or their areas using bio or chemical methods. For that along with swach bharat bring easy & strict methods for wastage collection procedure to homes, hotels, construction sites, industry.Get garbage as segregated from the collection area itself.

Cellulosic ethanol from post harvest residues of wheat, rice - straws, rice husk biomass wastes can be converted to pure transportation energy fuel as drop in tank replacement for petrol and or diesel.Technology developed and proven in India. Needs funding support for a 24x7 continuous process demonstration plant. Around Rupees seventy Crores only for 15,000 litres pure fuel grade ethanol out per day, from about 50 metric tonnes of straws and rice husk.

a) Energy conservation needs to be implemented. Office timing can be made from 7.00 am and offices should be necessarily closed by 5.00 pm. b) Private , PSU's and government staff should be given the flexibility to work from home. It will reduce pollution and energy consumption c) Processes should be made efficient and use of technology platform needs to be mandated, this will also result in energy consumption. d) renewable power can be bundled with nonrenewable power to make it cheaper

Solar box type cooker has not had the impact, given its practical approach and appropriateness to rural India's cooking needs of clean, sustainable and renewable energy. Some design improvements are suggested: AA) Improve the strength of the top lid and bottom cooking chamber / oven and with M.S/HDPE UV resistant plastics/aluminium.Needed to withstand strong gusts of Aandhi, noticed in New Delhi. BB) Vertical axis rotation for about 180 degrees from 9 am till 5 pm to track the sun.

a) First of all a fund needs to be created to meet the financing needs of renewable sector. b) Government can launch tax free bonds, which can create a fund with low interest cost. c) Remote villages , where energy transmission line are not present are need to be identified. d) Viable source of the renewable energy needs to be identified for these villages such as solar power , wind mill or biogas etc. e) Energy distributed via local grid & mobile payment gateways for revenue collection

Replace coal with high calorific value agricultural byproduct such as rice husk based briquettes or sugar bagasse based briquettes. They can be substituted for certain coal applications. Production in bulk is challenge due to broken supply chain, collection of raw material in particular. Since raw material has low inherent value, transportation cost is major cost. Hence, ideally suited for cottage industry for farmers. Many small machines with farmers instead of many machines in a single factory
