The role of new and renewable energy has been increasing significantly in recent times with the growing concern for the country's energy security. To achieve energy self-sufficiency, it is necessary to deploy new and renewable energy for supplementing the energy requirements of our country. So, we ask you to suggest ways for encouraging the use of renewable energy on this open discussion forum.

Renewable energy indeed talks about the source of energy which can be reused. It will help the nation financially, economically and environmentally. Our traffic density in lanes is increasing day by day.It will cause burning of fossil fuel as well as pollution.First thing to do is to use CNG s in public transport system. We should go green.! Solar panels can be installed in roof tops such that power for a house can be generated from that home itself. Green construction techniques should be ado

Some kW solar power generation facility should be provided by developer's of multi story residential or commercial buildings. In India lots of vacant space of low or high rise buildings available. Solar power facility can save the buildings running power cost like common lighting, lift power, water pumping etc . and sell surplus power. Make it compulsory if construction area is above to some square feet to get the statutory approval from local government bodies.

Innovative Hybrid Plant:- Solar Energy plant may be installed near sea coast for(1) Desalination of Sea water by Solar energy:-(1)Pure drinking water may be obtained with lowest cost & supply to needy villages(2)sea salt may be separated & obtained(3)Wind Mills may also be placed in Solar plant area(4) Vegetables and agriculture plants may be grown below solar plant space, which favors coastal land, if feasible.

India is blessed by a vast coastal line, so we have potential to use the land under the sea for Under water fish farming, this will help us for planned farming on specific species of Marine life and also generate huge amount of revenue by it. The United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization reports that the aquaculture industry is growing three times faster than land-based animal agriculture, and aquafarms will surely become even more prevalent.

Recently i Joined a new IT company and on first day we had this task to provide new idea. So our group came up with this idea ,we named it Intelli-Power. Idea is -in Metro cities, we have large number of multi-storey buildings. now days, buildings are being made with fibre/glass panels on exterior part as day-light saving tool. Add the solar panels on those fibre panels (recently scientist invented transparent solar cells).all the surface area of building can be covered with solar panel.

Kinetic energy can be converted to electrical energy as like alternator in our vehicle. So in every rural villages such machines should be installed where person who are idle could operate these machines and electricity could be produced. May this ideas seems to be unpractical but we should try this as we have vast population and least electric receiving fields..

Renewable Energy can be promoted in residential areas through Roof-top Solar schemes. I stay in Dombivli, a small city in the Thane District of Maharashtra. Here, near to our residential area, some construction groups are coming up with Solar-Wind Hybrid Projects on Commercial / Residential Towers. A Residential Complex in our area named "Yash Enclave" was recognised by Limca Book of Records for being India’s first solar-wind hybrid project running 150 lights, 17.5hp pump, 2lifts 24X7 on RE.
