The best way to get rid of waste plastic is to use it in construction. Low grade plastics should be completely banned which will remove the cost effectiveness incentive provided by the low grade plastics which significantly add to their usage. Production of low grade plastics should be outlawed as well.

I recently saw a government ad on heatwave safety that featured a plastic water bottle. While the intent was good, it felt contradictory, as we are also working hard to reduce plastic waste. Showing single-use plastic in such campaigns sends a mixed message to the public. I sincerely suggest using eco-friendly and traditional alternatives like copper bottles, stainless steel bottles, clay pots, and clay bottles in future campaigns. These are sustainable, healthier, and environmentally responsible choices. They also support local artisans and small businesses working with eco-friendly materials. Government campaigns strongly influence public behavior. Highlighting sustainable options like clay and copper not only promotes good health and environmental care but also strengthens India’s cultural heritage and green goals. I hope this feedback is taken into consideration for upcoming awareness campaigns.

Dear Sir, GE, We need to identify plastic alternative like cloth bags, waste dry paper and needs to minimise the use of single use plastic and use recyclable plastic. Plastic can be converted into wealth but needs proper disposal and waste management. Citizen needs to be aware and implementation of law. We need to stop single use plastic and must use cotton bag which is more durable shop keaper must stop use of single use plastic. Waste management will play important role .

Plastic pollution is a growing threat in India, harming ecosystems and human health. To address this, we propose a grassroots 3R strategy—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle—adaptable to both urban and rural areas. First, reduce plastic use by promoting cloth bags, banning single-use plastics locally, and encouraging bulk buying. Second, reuse materials by supporting refill stations and community-led “Thaila Banks” where cloth bags are borrowed and returned. Third, recycle efficiently by installing reward-based segregation kiosks, integrating informal waste workers into municipal systems, and using digital platforms to guide citizens to nearby drop points. This people-powered model not only cuts plastic waste but also creates green jobs. Piloting this in smart cities and rural clusters will demonstrate scalable impact. Together, we can build a cleaner, plastic-free India.

Hon. PM Sir, Considering current scenario of Indian students in foreign universities, I feel this is right time to make Indian higher education universities compatible to US and other international Universities. Students going to study abroad and facing lot of issues even after investing huge amount can be taken care and this will impact on our national growth in-terms of research and science and technology. Any way students paying huge amounts to study abroad also can pay similar in Indian universities too. Regards, Uday.

Plastic pollution is a big question mark for environment now a days.it should be recycle at war footing level.some suggestion has been given for their solution. 1 A sankalp will be taken for use minimum plastic product in daily life cycle. 2 plastic tax should be imposed on those product cover with plastic. 3 Eco friendly bag will be compulsory in place of plastic bags. 4 one man, one bag campaign will be started to aware mass level of people. 5 Eco friendly packaging should be compulsory for all manufacture owner.

Join the Pen Challenge and Help the Planet! I have recently picked up a new interest -the Pen Challenge- and its all about using the same pen for as long as possible by refilling it instead of buying new ones. Plastic waste is one of the biggest environmental problems facing the world. In India alone, over 300 million students use ballpoint pens. If each student throws away just one pen each month, thats 10 million pens! They end up in landfills, taking centuries to break down into harmful microplastics. The solution is simple: refill your pens! Every time you refill your pen, youre helping to reduce plastic waste. This simple action can inspire you and your friends to think of other ways to help the planet. Its a fun, easy, and effective way to promote environmental activism from a young age. So, why not start your own Pen Challenge today? Lets see who can make their pen last the longest and join the effort to reduce waste together! (Pl refer to att. Note) -Srinivas Madhav
