The Barthan Bank concept revolves around providing a range of steel utensils, including plates, spoons, glasses, bowls, and basins, which are stored collectively at the gram panchayat office. This creative approach aims to minimise the use of disposable plastic utensils and reduce the plastic waste generated in the district.

A "steel bank," or Bartan Bank, is a community initiative where steel utensils are made available for free or at a nominal cost to reduce the use of single-use plastics during events and gatherings. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle to Beat Plastic Pollution 1) Plastic pollution is harming our environment, oceans, and health. 2) I started by reducing single-use plastics like bags, bottles, and straws. 3) I always carry a cloth bag and use a steel water bottle. 4) Reusing old containers, jars, and clothes has helped me cut waste. 5) I upcycle plastic bottles into plant pots and bird feeders. 6) I properly clean and separate plastic waste for recycling. 7) I promote eco-friendly alternatives like bamboo toothbrushes and paper bags. 8) It was hard at first, but now it’s a rewarding habit. 9) I encourage my friends and family to adopt a zero-waste lifestyle. 10) Together, by reducing, reusing, and recycling, we can beat plastic pollution.
