We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

E-governance so far my knowledge is concern, work will be transparent, clean, speedy, corruption free governance. Every right thinking people want corruption free government. If implemented in Pasighat, it will halt corruption and pave way for speedy development and easier life. Priority should be focused on this issue.

Limited career growth in smaller facilities, Career paths for solid waste management practitioners are not always clear, especially in smaller facilities. Focus groups identified larger facilities with more roles and positions do not have this problem, and practitioners have an easier time advancing their careers.

Pasighat has the best government health establishment in the state. The century old General Hospital lies within a large area with avenues for further infrastructural development. It is a multi specialty hospital its OST Centre which addresses the problems of habitual addicts etc., for recuperation.

Lack of awareness and interest for solid waste occupations The main issue that municipalities identified relating to solid waste management was ensuring that careers in the solid waste industry are recognized as respectable careers that promote environmental health and protection. Many municipalities use a combination of clever, imaginative and functional activities to keep practitioners engaged, which helps to reduce the challenge of worker retention.
