We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

Eco-tourism to add the benefits of tourism with environment sustainability. It also aims at the economic development and political empowerment of local communities, to provide funds for ecological conservation and to foster respect for different cultures and for human rights. Eco-tourism parks can be set up. Daying Ering wildlife Sanctuary must be upgraded to provide more facilities hereby attracting more of regulated tourism activities. Traditional way of fishing is encouraged.

According to me, there is no shortage of skills in India but of manpower. India is second largest populated country and I think also have highest percentage of brilliant brain in the world. But there is lack of awareness and information which let them go waste by going against their field of interest.

It is very thankful, as the programme was aired in the local dialect-Adi. This has helped the common people, especially the elderly ones to comprehend the concept of SCP, Pasighat. Awareness programmes should be give more emphasis. The efforts of the officers and officials for the SCP are highly laudable.

In the pasighat e-governance should be considered with priority. We have been demanding for it for so long. No one wants to face some of the corrupt officers who always look for money. Proper vigilance of the tasks should be done and every task has to be done with first come first basis, not by money.

Pasighat adventure tourism can be converted as the mecca for adrenaline junkies. It has potential for river rafting along Siang, paragliding, cycling, trekking which can be incorporated into packages in collaboration with travel and torus operators or an adventure annual fest, along the lines of the Mechuka Adventure Fest can be organised.
