1. Restoring and protecting First order / second order streams of Ganga and tributaries in Himalayas [India and Nepal]- they are becoming seasonal, drying up in summer, and flooding in rainy season, due to lack of appropriate [species, canopy thickness]forest cover. Restoring appropriate forest cover, constructing check dams, contour trenches at origin of rivers is a major challenge. 2. Preventing diversion of rivers through tunnels, and discharge of huge volume of water in continuous flow

B.Plan for extensive forestation/ planting trees. C.Provide for Reed Bed System – The encl provides the brief and can be worked out as required. Mahendra Barde

Loss of conviction among common people about the sacredness due to decline of vedic scholars across the country. Impact of western culture based on wealth building philosophy over human tragedy which has affected Indians. Lack of awareness among Indians about the Ganga's immense potential to provide jobs on sustainable basis. Lack of awareness about how to save the river with people's participation. People donot know the waterless life and hunger awaiting them after ten years.
