Like global practice, there is need to remove mandatory statutory audit for MSMEs. This will also improve ease of doing business. Many countries have changed their laws and exempted such entities from compulsory financial audit by Chartered Accountants appointed as auditors. We in India must take immediate steps to implement this reform.
