While each smart city will have distinctive features specific to its location, demography, culture and other such factors, there maybe smart solutions to problems which are common to all cities. This contest seeks to identify such smart and innovative solutions to common problems. All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. Questions 1. Out of the following 21 smart solutions, select 3 solutions that should be applied to all Indian cities and provide a brief write-up (max. 50 words) to explain why. 2. Describe a ‘smart’ idea that you have seen in some other city(anywhere in the world) that you would like to see replicated in your own city. ‘Smart idea’ means doing more with less. 3. Describe 3 ways that Indian cities can reduce the gap between rich and poor. 4. List out 5 essential facts about your local municipal corporation that should be available to all citizens. Entry Deadline • Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015. Evaluation The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria: • Do-ability (50%) • Innovation (50%) Award Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts: • Rs. 40,000 - First PrizeRs. 25,000 - Second Prize The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot • All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. • The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only. • The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less. smart cities have an lntegrated transit corridor,where bus rapld translt corridors as well as suburban train net works are linked with pedestrion and cycle lanes.furthermore,there are pods to carry people directly from point to point with no stop at intervening stations.smart cards facilitate travel in multiple modes of pubilc transport.

Q4)The community must be provided with 1.Water should be distributed 2.Sewage waste disposal ,collecting garbage from door to door 3.Appropriate drainage line should provided 4.Good Roads should be provided that helps to reduce the traffic congestion during peak hours.

Q3) 3.Tax the rich at reasonable rate- Tax rates for the ultra high rich people should be increased. 4. Minimum wage should be increased

Q3)Ways to reduce gap between poor and rich:- 1.Breaking the social barriers- Citizens must be encourage to help the poor.People should get out of the comfort zone and should make public opinion to help the poor to build home.And providing basic facilities that are required. 2.Improving Public Schools and Hospital-Citizens below poverty line should be encouraged and should made aware of the importance of education.B.P.L citizens must be provided free education up to class 12th.

Q2)Smart Idea which I would suggest is the Skyline of Manhattan.This city has separate roadways for pedestrians an the cyclist.The advantage is that 1.It helps to reduce accidents, 2.It helps to reduce traffic congestion in way that people would prefer to travel in their own electric vehicle,or cycle. 3.It would encourage citizen to maintain their physical fitness 4.It would reduce carbon foot print.

In Education and admissions: The quota raj and reservation based on state and non state category needs to be completely abolished. This will enable free and easy migration of students from any region to else ware within INDIA.

3) Social Security schemes like PMJJM, Atal Pension Yojanaya etc will also reduce the gap between poor and rich. Hope entire population take the benefit out of such schemes started by this new government. 4) The Education system needs greater reforms for equitable development of all in entire length and breadth of this nation. There are great differences and disparities in this system of education as many states are taking advantage of so called federal structure to educate students.

To reduce the gap between the rich and poor we need to do the following: 1) Have basic amenities like schools, college & hospitals accessible to every poor at lower cost or free of cost. 2) Give fillip to skill development and minimum wages should be set for all categories of job for public and private run organization. The wage structure of a public sector service holder (govt. sector) is very much more than the private sector counterpart in many cases.

Q1)3.Persuasive electric vehicles or a vehicle of that type can be used to provide smart transport facilities.These vehicles reduce the area consumed,i.e,parking area in such a way that around 7X times car can be parked(PRS) in area when compared to conventional cars.These cars being energy efficient reduce the carbon foot print.For a single person the vehicle shown below can be used.Separated road can be formed such as pathway which would allow pedestrains and the cyclist to make their way.
