While each smart city will have distinctive features specific to its location, demography, culture and other such factors, there maybe smart solutions to problems which are common to all cities. This contest seeks to identify such smart and innovative solutions to common problems. All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. Questions 1. Out of the following 21 smart solutions, select 3 solutions that should be applied to all Indian cities and provide a brief write-up (max. 50 words) to explain why. 2. Describe a ‘smart’ idea that you have seen in some other city(anywhere in the world) that you would like to see replicated in your own city. ‘Smart idea’ means doing more with less. 3. Describe 3 ways that Indian cities can reduce the gap between rich and poor. 4. List out 5 essential facts about your local municipal corporation that should be available to all citizens. Entry Deadline • Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015. Evaluation The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria: • Do-ability (50%) • Innovation (50%) Award Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts: • Rs. 40,000 - First PrizeRs. 25,000 - Second Prize The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot • All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. • The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only. • The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less. Most common is that give housing for very poor people and set markets for road side sitting shopkeepers because these both are main cause of encroachment at any place..

4. Fact1:Water is an essential,our local corporation arranged Cauvery water for drinking Fact2:Underground drainage have to be made in a corporation, our local corporation have established an underground drainage facility Fact3:Transport facility is made well with unique ways to transport inside the city without a lot of collision with strong and nice roads to travel Fact4:Govt grocery stores where products are at govt rates Fact5:Wastage management is more needed to keep the city clean.

3.way1:Equality in Education is needed to reduce the gap between rich and poor, like the old days of gurukula system even the prince study with the poor with equality. way2:House for everyone which mostly reduces the gap between rich and poor, if a house and an address states a citizen in a country that makes everyone as an equal citizen of the country weather peoples are rich or poor. way3:Food quality has to be equal due to rich get quality of food and poor people gets the low quality food.

2.Barcelona smart city have introduced Open data that share the city’s information to public that leads to many innovation and application for people, providing thus information like health centers, emergency services, population strength, vehicles and so on. With these information people utilize it and move according to that and in smart world where smart phones are used widely, people develop apps that utilizes the information and provide results and facilities to the citizen’s use.

1. sol1:ELECTRONIC SERVICE DELIVERY(ESD):If ESD is established to every cities, citizens will be easily accessing them and utilize the facilities where corruption will be reduced due to E-services and work will go in an normal flow this improves citizens life style. sol2:SMART METERS & MANAGEMENT:establish SM in every city energy management, theft, fault or leakage in the line can be identified easily. sol3:SMART PARKING:This reduces usage of roads and frees space for vehicle to travel

We must make a machine to which we give plastics or bags or waste it tells our fortune our give us some candy for eg if we give it some bags n plastic it tells our fortune n candy or we can play any game on it by giving some waste materials it will help d city to keep clean n it will be cheap also first introduce these machine to famous places to see its result

The traffic system that we see in Howrah should be applied in Patna too. I think they have good control over their traffic as they won't allow trucks and big commercial buses to enter into the city which reduces the traffic jam. There should be no entry for big trucks and commercial big vehicles inside the city

what affects a common person who just wants to quietly go to his work everyday and come back back home...clean water, clean surroundings and safety in overall envirnment...these are primary and basic things...everything is based on this...so parameters that wil affect majority population are - no.5-video crime monitoring, no.8-100% waste water treatment, no.17-intelligent traffic management of avialable modes of transport...this will reqiure less money, can b implemented very fast..

First of all what is actually a smart city is.. The word smart in contrast of a city means to apply the least and the best and to receive the best reward. So according to me in a smart city the houses should be made in such a way that there walls should be hollow so that rain water can be stored in them from the roofs this will provide various benefits like it will keep the house cool which means no requirement of air conditioner and the water can be used any time,this will save energy, water.
