While each smart city will have distinctive features specific to its location, demography, culture and other such factors, there maybe smart solutions to problems which are common to all cities. This contest seeks to identify such smart and innovative solutions to common problems. All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. Questions 1. Out of the following 21 smart solutions, select 3 solutions that should be applied to all Indian cities and provide a brief write-up (max. 50 words) to explain why. 2. Describe a ‘smart’ idea that you have seen in some other city(anywhere in the world) that you would like to see replicated in your own city. ‘Smart idea’ means doing more with less. 3. Describe 3 ways that Indian cities can reduce the gap between rich and poor. 4. List out 5 essential facts about your local municipal corporation that should be available to all citizens. Entry Deadline • Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015. Evaluation The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria: • Do-ability (50%) • Innovation (50%) Award Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts: • Rs. 40,000 - First PrizeRs. 25,000 - Second Prize The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot • All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. • The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only. • The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less. well reduce the gap between rich and poor - its tough task but if one rich means which is connected with brand and if they adopt any village like in Gujarat Neeta Ambani. every celebrity or the political person do so we can reduce the gap even we the reduce the illiteracy which is the root of poorness.

clean and green - this is most important when you entered in any city. i was travelling in bus at Hyderabad i really liked it when i saw the small dustbins near by every seat so i want in all buses that kind of ideas which can keep clean bus and road too.

In my view the following select 3 solutions that should be applied to all Indian cities 1. electronic service delivery - ensures timely service and removal of corruption, encourages digital india 2. waste to energy and fuel - helps to make self sustainable city in terms of requirement of energy 3. intelligent traffic management - one of the ignored points while designing cities and common issue for a common man.

skill development centers- this is very useful because of it we can teach and provide the skills to all peoples specially for save electricity, traffic rules guide and there own situation where they are confused, also how to behave and handle the situation. also we can be a part of grooming classes where we can motivate the peoples.keep calm and do smart.

A common problem faced by any Indian city is water and energy crisis. This can be overcomed by compulsory rainwater harvesting system be fixed in a building, before giving its approval. Similalrly a solar panel can also be made cumpolsory l.

3 Solution are: renewable sources of energy-springs gives by God. if we use the solar energy so we can generate the energy and supply in manner and we can save the electricity, specially where there is no electricity supply or less supply that is very useful, also other things like cow dung a source of green energy. intelligent traffic management- this management which can handle the terrific traffic.use CCTV cameras and should to cut the chalaan and send it the home.

Pl provid proper drainage system for sewage water underground drainage. For rain water separate drainage linking with water ponds Very very useful for water resources for cities and for industries and cultivation.

All cities and growing town should be planned for next 50 years growth. Master plan should be made considering growth in population and area after 50 years and can be implemented in phases. Areas to be considered for 50 year master plan: 1. Population Growth, 2.
