While each smart city will have distinctive features specific to its location, demography, culture and other such factors, there maybe smart solutions to problems which are common to all cities. This contest seeks to identify such smart and innovative solutions to common problems. All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. Questions 1. Out of the following 21 smart solutions, select 3 solutions that should be applied to all Indian cities and provide a brief write-up (max. 50 words) to explain why. 2. Describe a ‘smart’ idea that you have seen in some other city(anywhere in the world) that you would like to see replicated in your own city. ‘Smart idea’ means doing more with less. 3. Describe 3 ways that Indian cities can reduce the gap between rich and poor. 4. List out 5 essential facts about your local municipal corporation that should be available to all citizens. Entry Deadline • Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015. Evaluation The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria: • Do-ability (50%) • Innovation (50%) Award Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts: • Rs. 40,000 - First PrizeRs. 25,000 - Second Prize The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot • All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. • The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only. • The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less. 2. In Sweden, Municipalities encourage consumers to separate the waste to recycle, reuse or compost. Newspapers to Paper mass Bottles to Melted to new items Plastic containers to Plastic raw materials Food to Composted to soil or biogas A special rubbish trucks circulate all around to collect the wastes. From ashes the metals are separated, recycled. The rest which cannot be burned like porcelain, tiles are shifted to extract gravel and used for road construction and it is economical.

1. Waste to energy and fuel: This equalize the patterns of cities and save ecological cycles. When e- wastes like PCB s are soldered one can get gold , platinum, silver . Thus this method includes recycling too. (2) Skill Development centers (SDC) SDC will enable youngsters to prove their caliber in workplace. their knowledge will bring out ideas to move the cities a step forward. (3) Renewable sources of energy These are sustainable and never run out. It is economical too.

To make smart city its very necessary to keep clean. For that must be banned Pan masala, Gutkha etc. And must be punished the person who doing wrong in any sense.

Answer to question 4. • Sanctioned amount investment & implementation details for all schemes. • Contact details of all authorities to complain/suggestion. • Working timing and working area of every employee should be well drafted and available to citizens. • Every new schemes when comes should be properly educated to citizens. • Every process time & duration chart should be available to citizens.

3.First Idea is local tax system should be in such a way that Person falls under rich give rich tax and amount used in fulfil poor’s basic needs. second Reservation system categorised to ensure that every family should have at least one or two government jobs according to the family financial status. Good for family planning only one/two will get the benefit. third Fees for availing government facilities like parks, schools & hospitals should be in rich, medium and poor category.

Answer to Question-2 2. Kyoto is a “City of temples” but still place is clean and arranged. Our temple cities should be adopting the idea of management from them.

Answer to Question-1 Skill development centers-will Create environment for individual to convert their specialized talent into career which will increase the happiness index. Recycling and reduction of C&D Waste-Managing waste in parallel to convert those wastes into useful energy resources which will increase the health index. Citizens- City's Eyes and ears-will improve Citizen Government Relationship which will results to increase the awareness & security index for issues like crime etc

Making cities pollution free and garbage free is first step towards development. Increasing road network to towns and metro stations should be in 100 cities of country. Developing industrial sites in every city, separate residential areas should be there. Parks for public should in each and every part of city not only in rich people areas. Effective administration should be established. 24 Hours electric supply should be Set up. Most important is to build schools and colleges should be in reach
