During the Rashtriya Ekta Divas address on 31st October, on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced that the Government of India proposes to launch a new initiative called ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. The programme aims to give a boost to the existing cultural connect between different parts of the country and enhance interaction between people living in different states.

Conceptually, the idea is that each year one state should connect to any other state in India on a reciprocal basis. As the Prime Minister himself explained through an example in his speech, "Haryana as a state can decide to connect with Tamil Nadu for the year 2016 and the activities that Haryana state can undertake may include popularizing the rich heritage of Tamil Nadu in Haryana through song festivals, book festivals, literary events, food festivals, tours of people of Haryana to Tamil Nadu and vice versa. In the year 2017, Haryana would connect to any other state and in 2018 to another state and so on".

The knowledge of the culture, traditions and practices of different states will lead to an enhanced understanding and bonding between each other thereby strengthening the unity and and integrity of India. We believe that such an initiative to connect people-to-people should be implemented with inputs from the citizens of India.

With this view, MyGov introduces the ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ contest. Citizens are invited to submit their ideas and suggestions on how the programme should be structured so as to encapsulate its true spirit in all its various dimensions and capture the diversity that characterises India.

While the citizens are free to submit their ideas in kernel format, they can also expand in detail on the themes and sub-themes. Citizens may consider the following general themes on which to base their ideas, while submitting their entries. These themes are only indicative and participants are free to include any other points they deem appropriate.

1. Identifying role of central government and state governments in implementing the programme
2. Identifying the manner in which the governments, civil society and private sector can work together.
3. Specifying the Use of modern communication tools, including social media.
4. Documentation of success stories.
5. Making 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' a people's movement rather than a government programme.

Participants are encouraged to submit original and innovative ideas. An idea, merely rich in detail but lacking originality, would not score more than a very innovative idea explained briefly. However, if a very innovative idea is also explained in detail, it will naturally score higher.

Participants may submit their entries as attached PDF documents while providing a summary of their proposals in the comment section.

The winners of the contest will be awarded a certificate by the Prime Minister, along with cash prizes as follows:

1. First Prize - Rs. 100,000/-
2. Second Prize - Rs. 75,000/-
3. Third Prize - Rs. 50,000/-

Cheers My Gov... For preserving the cultural heritage and diversity of India by seeking views from public. It is evident that maximum youths are not at all aware of the cultural diversity of India. The main problem is a westernized education system laden with modern sciences. As a student, I think the best way to aware the students is through inter school and inter regional cultural competition. Also there can be some sort of crash courses in cultural sciences during vacations. Thank you !

Primary education system is very worst in our country.Government should start there.Reading is near about 0 in our society.society. Government should think over that too. Government schools and colleges are running without staff or contract basis staff or fix pagar staff.How good persons can come in this environment.Another thing is criteria for recruitment.In college ,one should have to return five books.Can you think to write a book is a child game?All are going to paid services for that.

'EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' There are 254 public sector undertakings or government-owned corporation in India in which around Most of the them is having set up in different states of India. Generally employee prefer to stay in their native state only and does not go voluntarily to different state to work. To motivate employee the work in different state (other than native state ) plan may be made by respective company.

Early childhood is important for an individual to become a good citizen. Schools organize tours for students to learn out of books. I would suggest that the various schools (private,government) can start a Student Exchange Program once a year where Students from one state would go to school in other state for few Days (eg 7-10 Days). They can stay with local students and commute to the school as if they are based in that state. It will give them a chance to learn their tradition very closely.

Job and work place should be plan in such a way that no one should travel more than 10 km from where they residing. Due to that pollution, travelling and traffic problem will also automatically solve. Now a days almost more than 70% people in metropolitan city travelling for more than 25 to 35 km daily. Because of the near by place of work from home efficiency of the worker will also increase and they also get more time with their family.

we can use railways to promote this.the train originating from one station may carry the culture of the origin state and while its journey it can spread the message.in this way this can happen throughtout the year without any extra cost for advertisement.

Education means “To Draw Out “so through education hidden talent or abilities must be come out. Nowadays most of institute is giving education to make money rather than concern about students and faculties. Government is giving more permission to new institute but what about students and faculties are working in institute.Demand and supply ratio is not maintaining nowadays.Researchers are not getting fund and motivation. qualification are same and than why placement based on caste category?

Great work carried out by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel related to One Nation by combing all individuals. Again few people are dividing states that are not at all acceptable. We have to work in direction of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. Few suggestions are: 1. One Nation One Number (No state wise bifurcation in mobile numbers) 2. There should not like roaming in/out across states 3. No state wise ID proofs 4. No state specific RTOs 5. Even I believe no state wise Government, Only PMO in nation

Hello sir , Really i feel proud to be an Indian and we all also . sir your program "MANN KI BAAT" have awesome show for all of us , but this show not cover all , according to me cover and make 'EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' we have to make such a program that can delivered to every indian otherwise its not matter they live in urban or rural area. For make our India as'EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'we have to start program also on television and Internet because generally 80-90% are area of it.
