During the Rashtriya Ekta Divas address on 31st October, on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced that the Government of India proposes to launch a new initiative called ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. The programme aims to give a boost to the existing cultural connect between different parts of the country and enhance interaction between people living in different states.

Conceptually, the idea is that each year one state should connect to any other state in India on a reciprocal basis. As the Prime Minister himself explained through an example in his speech, "Haryana as a state can decide to connect with Tamil Nadu for the year 2016 and the activities that Haryana state can undertake may include popularizing the rich heritage of Tamil Nadu in Haryana through song festivals, book festivals, literary events, food festivals, tours of people of Haryana to Tamil Nadu and vice versa. In the year 2017, Haryana would connect to any other state and in 2018 to another state and so on".

The knowledge of the culture, traditions and practices of different states will lead to an enhanced understanding and bonding between each other thereby strengthening the unity and and integrity of India. The full address of the portion of the Prime Minister's speech, where he announced the scheme, can be accessed here.

We believe that such an initiative to connect people-to-people should be implemented with inputs from the citizens of India.

With this view, MyGov introduces the ‘EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ contest. Citizens are invited to submit their ideas and suggestions on how the programme should be structured so as to encapsulate its true spirit in all its various dimensions and capture the diversity that characterises India.

While the citizens are free to submit their ideas in kernel format, they can also expand in detail on the themes and sub-themes. Citizens may consider the following general themes on which to base their ideas, while submitting their entries. These themes are only indicative and participants are free to include any other points they deem appropriate.

1. Identifying role of central government and state governments in implementing the programme
2. Identifying the manner in which the governments, civil society and private sector can work together.
3. Specifying the Use of modern communication tools, including social media.
4. Documentation of success stories.
5. Making 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' a people's movement rather than a government programme.

Participants are encouraged to submit original and innovative ideas. An idea, merely rich in detail but lacking originality, would not score more than a very innovative idea explained briefly. However, if a very innovative idea is also explained in detail, it will naturally score higher.

Participants may submit their entries as attached PDF documents while providing a summary of their proposals in the comment section.

The winners of the contest will be awarded a certificate by the Prime Minister, along with cash prizes as follows:

1. First Prize - Rs. 100,000/-
2. Second Prize - Rs. 75,000/-
3. Third Prize - Rs. 50,000/-

The last date for submission is 25th December, 2015.

Every year republic day parade is organized with different state jhankhis. These are performed by the citizens of those states. As a part of ek Bharat, these can be performed by different state citizens for different state. Like Bengali citizens performing for Marathi jhankhi and so on. This will bring culture of one state closer to other.

Various states in the country can have debates about the deities they worship, and their spiritual and cultural practices. The different religions can reason with each other on having the correct perspective about scriptures and better understand each other's culture. This can lead to better communal harmony everywhere in India and will help the youth of India have the appropriate perspective of why this diversity survived as unity for thousands of years.

Respected Sir I would like to suggest to transform our country into Cashless economy just as Sweden country. This will solve all our problems related to corruption and black money. This will revolutionize our country by creating employment by leaps and bounds. All transactions/payments shall be done by mobile/card/internet/cheque. This will give real thrust to our Digital India programme.

IN ek bharat shreshtha bhaarat in my point of view can use cultural troops from one area to another area by doing roadside dramas, during festival times and on special occasion.i think we can use school students on this educating awareness by arranging inter state tourism and can give some details in books and also making connection between two state cultural interest persons.showing some free shows arranging food festival.and this helps indian people understandable unknown cultural activities.

First of all we all should be enlightened about the heritage rich culture, tangible property India as a whole possesses. If I am able to appreciate a Shiva Parvathi dance in the Ellora Caves, so will I appreciate the same in a Chola sculpture down South in a Tanjavur temple. But the sad part is the Ministry of Cultural affairs is planning legitimizing the sale of antiquities. Unless we save them ban sale of antiquities, we cannot make states appreciate its rich cultural heritage.

It goes as follows 1. Celebrate festivals during our own festivals in association with the local organisation present in the city. For eg :Navratri (garba) to be celebrated during in assam during bihu. Note: in this people from gujrati community from assam will organise the event in association with local people, in this NO financial support will be provided by govt as it is our MORAL responsibility to make ek bharat .... Thought happen. Same is applied all over India with own interests
