E-Waste Se Raksha

Today, electronic waste poses a significant challenge for the society. With the introduction of innovative features and upgradation, people are changing their devices by discarding the old ones, thereby contributing in generation of electronic waste significantly. An effective collection and disposal system, as well as a recycling of end-of-life electronic devices in responsible manner is important for protecting the health and environment.

Awareness Programme on Environmental Hazards of Electronic Waste is being implemented across India by MeitY to create awareness among the public about the hazards of e-waste recycling by the informal sector and educate them about alternate methods of disposing their e-waste. The programme also stresses the need for adopting environment friendly e-waste recycling practices, vis-à-vis, collection and recycling mechanism. MeitY is also promoting R&D to develop technological solutions for e-waste management in environment friendly manner.

Here, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) invites entries from citizens on the theme: Environment-friendly methods/measures for disposal and recycling of e-waste

Technical Parameters: The participant should submit the written entries with the following technical parameters:
a)PDF file format only;
b)Using Text font size 12 among font type Cambria or Times New Roman or equivalent Unicode Hindi Text
c)The Line spacing would be 1.15
d)Paper Margins allowing 1-inch margins on all four sides and justify text on both sides
e)Word limit - Maximum 3 pages as per specifications

Prizes:
1st : Rs. 15,000/-
2nd : Rs. 10,000/-
3rd : Rs. 5,000/-

Last date of submission is 13th February, 2020.

As a part of my final year project at B. Tech. level, I had undertaken a study on setting up a reverse logistics network for discarded mobile phones and other handheld electronic devices as well. We sought to replicate in India some of the best practices in logistics and government policy from Europe (particularly Spain and Switzerland). It is relevant in the aid of collection, consolidation, and transportation of household level e-waste to recycling facilities. PFA the concept note.

Sutantraa consulting india pvt Ltd is a technology startup and already in development of a solution for solving one particular aspect of e-waste industry of tracking the reverse logistics , audit and record and compliance management.. Attached summary of our project.
